Description Sorry for not uploading this sooner. I was having really great sex.

Anyway, here's that tutorial I promised for colouring your line art. I came up with this technique myself and have found it immeasurably useful since. I hope you make good use of it for your artwork. Enjoy!

Really great tutorial

But I have a problem. I duplicated my color layer (though it isn't over-filled), I made the clipping mask, but it only makes my pic darker :/ It doesn't show the lines.

Help?

You mean it makes the colours darker after you change the Hue/Sat settings? It sounds like your clipping mask is not assigned to the correct layer. For example, if you drew your lines on a white layer, the clipping mask is useless because the clipping mask will display above the white pixels as well the the lines. Your lines need to be on a BLANK layer and nothing else. If your lines and colours are on the same layer, you're essentially screwed because the lines need to be separate for the clipping mask to work. If you're still having trouble, show me a screenshot of the image with the layers palette visible.

My lines and colors were on different layers, but on the color layer, there was white around the colors, maybe that's the problem
Thanks dude!

Uh... that doesn't make sense. Painting your colours on a white layer shouldn't really affect the clipping mask if your lines are on a blank layer. Are you sure you arranged your layers properly?

I think so. Well, now it's working
Though, I have a little trouble (again ) I colored my pic, but when my lineart is clipped, I just don't know how to make the lines show only one color, if you know what I mean

If you want the lines to be just one colour, you've totally missed the point of this tutorial. You can change the colour of the lines with the Hue/Sat menu, or by highlighting your line art layer and clicking the transparency lock icon in the Layers palette (it's the one that looks like a square). Then you can just fill the lines with any colour of your choice.

Wow, thank you for this. This is... like, the most vital thing i needed to learn, since my lines have always been a little too black. After learning this, i realized i needed this info about 8 years ago.

Why? Why do i find channels so intimidating?

Thanks a lot for putting this together! I've only just taken up some basic colouring using my ipad and sketchbook pro app and, whilst I can't make specific use of your tutorial, knowing the process and basics is a big help.

Dude! Thanks for this! Gah, so many head aches would have been saved long ago it I knew this trick was that simple. *face palm* I've always done mine by locking the transparency on the line art layer and just actually coloring the lines, but his blends way better.
