So here's an introduction page to the comic. I wanted to do a Bond intro, but I couldn't get Shirley Bassey on the phone. I debated whether I should include this at all or just let the story unfold by itself. However, since this comic adheres strictly to the continuity of the original timeline, I felt it best to provide a recap to inform readers on when this takes place.

From a narrative standpoint, Endangered Species #1 seemed like the logical starting point for my comic. It was the last issue in the series to feature characters from the original continuity, but the dialogue was still heavily edited due to legal shenanigans (you can tell by the different font Archie used). This is a good place to resume Team Fighters' quest and revise their encounter with the echidnas. Other Sonic fans have attempted this before. A couple years ago, FritzyBeat worked on his version of Endangered Species with other artists, which was sadly left unfinished, while Archie Sonic Online are planning to revisit the story some time in the future. My comic should provide the first full unofficial redaction of Endangered Species in a more copacetic form.

On a related note, someone asked me last week if my comic had any relation to Ian Flynn's notes "Lost Hedgehog Tales ". This is half true. My comic was originally intended to be an adaptation of the abandoned ideas in LHT, but I started writing the script before Flynn posted the first chapter. Back then, the script's working title was "Sonic Classic", but I didn't care much for that because it sounded like a flavour of crisps or something. I planned on retitling it "Lost Hedgehog Tales" (with Flynn's permission) later, but so far Flynn refuses to post more chapters of LHT with which to substantiate my comic. I realized that as my comic progresses along a different path from the little information we have on LHT, readers might find the growing divergence more vexing if they share the same title. I knew I needed a new title, so after much thought I came up with "Sonic Retold". It seemed to fit.

So the short answer is: My comic has no substantial relation to Lost Hedgehog Tales. The story is entirely of my own design. I hope you enjoy the result.
