A silly quickie I meant to draw ages ago after the "Waves of Change" story arc ended. (I'm overworked!) After Sonic's harrowing experience battling foes underwater, I thought he'd try to get some lessons in swimming so that he wouldn't feel so lost at sea. If there's one thing he's learning fast, it's that hedgehogs don't swim. But I really drew this as an excuse for Tails to take on the role of big brother for a change.

In Mario and Sonic in the Olympic games, whilst doing swimming activities, you will notice Sonic has a life jacket on, but every other character hasn't got one.That said, Sonic is the only character in the game that can't swim, in that specific game, anyway. This proves Shadow can ,indeed, swim.

I feel Sonic's pain. Never knew how to swim myself and having my bf trying to teach me how in my late twenties feels all sorts of embarrassing.

Hahaha! That's adorable! But yeah I agree with the genisay, hedgehog do swim, it's just poor sonic can't. :C and I love how Tails is being a big brother and try to help his 'big' brother in learning to swim. Nicely done with the drawing though. ^~^ keep it up! :3

Actually....the sad part is...hedgehogs /do/ swim, and they are actually pretty good at it.
Poor Sonic! If there is one thing that really freaks him out, it's water any deeper then his ankles.

Huh. I've seen videos of plenty of other hedgies that could swim, and even knew some one that would let their hedgie paddle around in the bath. But, much like people, what might make the difference is if they were taught about swimming from an early age. Most of the ones I've seen in videos by a Youtuber I follow starts his Hedgies off swimming when they are pretty young.
So, I guess it would work about the same. If Sonic didn't learn as a hoglet, he's gonna have a dickens of a time learning later in life. XD
