i have a question when you remove the line art layer, do the colours suddenly look messy and crazy. Idk i usually dwell over filling in the line art so precisely (why I dont use it much XD) but im wondering how you do it? (sorry if this doesnt make too much sense)
Lovely art

thank you! =] and usually i paint over it rather than just removing it. or, i did when i made this tutorial anyway. lately i've been working with lines more.
but i know some people who just straight up remove it; if you work large enough and fill it in precisely enough you should be able to. i have the same problem as you when i do, it looks pretty messy sometimes without lines hahahah.

Ohh I've never thought about using a soft light layer for simple bounce light, it seems to simple XD
Thank you :3

Your style is so unique and interesting. I love the way you color! Very interesting hair tip as well, I'm going to have to try that.

I don't use the GIMP but I don't see why you couldn't ! As long as you can separate scanned lineart from its white background.

I still have issues with hair at times, haha, but it may be because I don't know which style to draw it in.

I have a rough time drawing realistic dark hair actually ! because the instinct is to draw every single hair (to make the whole thing darker) and then it just looks bad. so i'm still working on that.

Oh yeah, I know how that is! It took me forever to figure out how to finish the hair on my latest picture and ended up making the hair color too light. I guess it's just a call for practice.
Your tutorial gave me some insight on how to approach it though, so thank you!
