Thanks for thisΒ tutorial. I have Daz 4 so this should be a big help, thanks.

wow, I have newfound appreciation for the work you do! But then, I imagine it takes a person just as much effort and time to make a good drawing, so no art is easy!

How much do these programs usually cost?

The Basic version of Daz Studio 3 is free. Daz Studio 4 is currently free, too.

Awesome tutorial! I wish I was able to do stuff like this.(but I can't get the software and whatever 'cause my parents said no.) Still, this is awesome!!!

Yep. There are ways to reduce render times, like using fewer light sources and relying on reflected light instead, or decreasing image resolution, or even using a computer network to speed up the render. But Lux itself is pretty slow

24 h, even it would be 10 x quicker would be to long for me, lol
When I work, I render a scene many many times, until I am happy with it...
DAZ|Studio 4, 64 bit on mac needs, even for complex scenes, only a few minutes...

Yeah, that's true. But even 3Delight can slow down considerably if you're using IBL with soft shadows, ambient occlusion and global illumination ^_^ I had a 2000px*2000px scene which took 2 hours to render with all the effects on my current hardware.

However, one of the many things I like about Lux is that you do not have to wait for many hours if all you want is to get a glimpse at how your scene will look. If I want to take a look at my lighting setup I can do a very quick test render (10 mins) with reduced resolution. There's also a "Preview" option that accelerates the render at the cost of some realism.

I see, but I am shocked anyway
