I guess you haven't been keeping up. After the war ended, he realized to the neutrals returning to Cybertron that he was a symbol of the war and the old ways and chose to set off into space to find his own way in life free of responsibility.

Enjoying the balance between the dark-outlined cartoony style and the [quite subtle] texture of the robots. They're shiny, but also worn enough so that you know they mean business.

Bumblebee's and Ironhide's poses seem a bit played out, but otherwise I'm diggin' it. Did you design Ironhide and Prowl's new bodies?

Those poses have been overdone? Not sure if I've seen them before. Maybe subconsciously. Well, Ironhide is based on his WfC design and Prowl is based on Bluestreak concept art for the DS, I believe?

Exactly correct, the original concept art was indeed Bluestreak, who sadly did not make the final cut of the DS "War for Cybertron" title, despite having the design approved by Hasbro. I know David White the concept artist has already chimed in, but I just wanted to jump in and add my two bits as the Art lead on that DS project. Dave's concepts were very strong, in fact, his version of Grimlock is in the DS game despite transforming into a tank/truck vehicle rather than a T-Rex (which was actually in line with the comic "War Within" storyline). The new "Fall of Cybertron" game has Grimlock turning into a T-Rex. I am curious how they plan to explain the dino form before traveling to Earth(though they never bothered to explain Trypticon's Godzilla-esque appearance).

Oooh, I didn't recognize the Ironhide design. I still haven't played WfC.
Bumblebee's "the leader pointing forward" has been done in a lot of covers, including the last #1 . And I don't know where but I know I've seen Ironhide's "strongman" pose with the arms that way elsewhere. I'm not saying you intentionally copied anyway, I think it was more a subconscious mimicry on your part.
