Yeah. This is what I'm doing.I'm not gonna say the usual "Minisentry is cheap', "Lul takes no skill" or "Wow you fucking suck cause you use that" (Even though it's kinda true), no. I'm gonna give actual reasons to why this thing is over powered, not just cheap.
First off. The Engineer. Not the thing people focus on when talking about how the Minisentry is over powered. The engineer gains an extra 25 health. This may not seem like much but this can help him only just survive things he normally wouldn't. This allows him to escape from certain situations where he would normally die. He can run into the middle of a fight and place a minisentry and get out without having to worry.
Now onto the actual Minisentry. A Minisentry is basicly a small level 1 sentry which builds faster, costs less to build and has 50 less hp. Level 1 sentries do a decent amount of damage but are very easy to take down. This isn't exactly the case with the Minisentry. The Minisentry is... well... mini... this makes it pretty hard to shoot when in the middle of a battle (which is 90% of the time as this is normally where they are placed). Doesn't matter much if you do break the Minisentry, chances are the Engineer will be able to build another one right away. Even when not in the middle of a battle, most Engineers don't stray far away from their Minisentry. A lot of the time you've got to try and decide if you should shoot the minisentry or the Engineer.
I could go on for longer talking about small things that make this thing too powerful but I've lost interest and my rage has decreased lel.
Things they could change (Not all at once/the same time): Shorter range.
Slightly bigger.
Less damage.
Engi has normal health or less health than normal.
Minisentry costs regular amount to build.
Allow the gunslinger to random crit. (It's a pretty pointless downside honestly)
As far as I know, the Minisentry cannot be repaired, let it be repaired if using some of these downsides. (I doubt anyone would repair it anyway :S)

I honestly don't think the mini is easy to destroy. If the mini has the high ground, it's actually very hard to directly hit it with explosives and sometimes even guns might be a tad difficult. A mini on high ground not only counters Scouts and Pyros, but may also counter Soldiers and sometimes even Demomen if they aren't using the sticky launcher. Minis can also make you freak out if you are getting shot from several angles and have to deal with the mini along with whoever else is shooting you, it makes it harder to hit cause you'll probably panic and not be able to focus.
Low health does not neccesarily mean easy to kill. (Take the Scout for example, sure the minisentry can't move, but its height is like the Scouts knee or somethin'. This pretty much makes up for the no movement.) Sure one good rocket can kill it sometimes, but that takes up... well a whole rocket. That can make a massive difference.
Anyway, it doesn't much matter if you can't repair it, it'd cost you more metal to repair it in the first place. It's not something you want to keep up, it's something you just put down and it does all the work, if it gets destroyed you can just put another one exactly where it was.

Hmm....You got a point, then. I haven't really messed around with the Gunslinger much, decided I probably wouldn't stick with it long.
But playing as other classes, mainly Medic and Demoman, I have actually noticed that the Minis are hard to spot. Sometimes they're right in front of you, so obvious, but a lot of the time you can't see where it is.
Yeah, I think damage reduction would be good, because if you don't know where that mini is, you're gonna die.

I hate it when more then one engineer on the same team uses the minisentry, and I also hate the knock-back that it has, If ANYTHING should be taken away from the mini it should be the knock-back. Or I might be crazy.

The gunslinger is the only way for me to survive xD
No matter how I place my normal sentries, they always end up blowing because either:
1. Sticky spammer 2good
2. Buildings ain't fukin fast enough (not even with Jag)
3. Teammates don't even know they are there

I try to play push Engi. I find turtling behind a sentry boring as balls so I always try and push my sentry as far up as possible.

I use it anyway. I despise turtling with larger sentries and find it generally more useful, especially with unreliable teammates.

I rarely turtle behind my sentries, I only really do that if I'm joking around with friends or if I'm kind of needed to do that. I prefer to take my sentry as far to the front lines as possible. This is pretty dangerous but works very well if you are able to pin the enemy down or... get a couple spawn kills. This can be made easy by sneaking around and placing a teleporter right under the enemies noses and waiting for the perfect moment to take your sentry behind them.

Minisentry can't be repaired, personally I only really use the Gunslinger in MvM and VSH/FF2 since the benefits are incredibly helpful in Co-Op modes, usually in the competitive modes I tend to use the Jag.

Let me add this information: According to TF2 wiki, with gunslinger, dispersers cost only 70 metals to build! I think this was a bit unfair "minibuff" so engies can save a bit more metal for minis
I didn't play with gunslinger after that update but this buff is true?

Well, I agree that Gunslinger is a bit overpowered, but I'm not one of those people that say that this is a noob's weapon or it shouldn't be in the game at all. It just needs to be a little more balanced.
Also about minisentry itself - As a Soldier, it takes 2 rockets to destroy it. It's a lot, taking a note the fact that two rockets are enough to kill a goddamn Scout. Sentry's health should be reduced enough to be able to one-shot it with a rocket, since it takes some struggle as well for other classes to destroy it.

Like I said, if you actually read what I said that is, yeah, "it's so fucking easy to take down" a lot of the time but its always gonna be there as a distraction and people can kill you while you're taking it down. If you don't take it down then it's gonna end up killing you because you were too busy killing the person attacking you.
Also how am I ruining the game?

speaking of which.
The gunslinger can crit.
You need to hit enemies 3 times in an row. The third hit is an guarantied crit.

Flamethrowers take them down pretty fast. Keeping a substantial amount of health left to kill the Engineer, unless he has the Frontier Justice with Crits, then if a good shot, you're in trouble. But if you destroy it and he rebuilds another, focus on the sentry, while avoiding his shots. He's dead. You're lucky if you have a medic nearby, but I can vouch that the minisentry is annoying. It's more of a waste of time than a threat, unless left alone. At least that's how I find it.

You can take quite a lot of damage just trying to get close enough to the thing to burn it.
The idea of it being sort of a distraction is true. It may only do around 50-100 damage (depending on what class you're playing a such) to you before you destroy it but if theres an enemy or 2 around you're probably gonna be dead from missing that amount of health and not shooting them.

Their weakness: spy with diamondback. Crit from sapping sentry and just enough health to kill the engie with a few shots.
