Hiya! This tutorial is really helpful, but, I'm making a dress up game, and I put a 'start' button first and then a new key frame with the game. But all it did was show the button and then the game and it just loops really fast and doesn't stop. I also tried putting the button frame and the game in different scenes, but it just did the same thing. How can I get it to just show the game after you press the button??
(I'm using flash MX, I don't know if that's the problem, but as far as I can tell, it should work :3)

did you put a stop action on the frame with the start button so the movie doesn't just play through everything?

it flashes alot, and if you manage to click the button, then it just goes to the button(the background is a nekkid kaito btw XD) and if you click it, nothing happens DX

On the frame that you put the play button, use this code:
stop();
That way, the game won't loop. Believe me. I had the same problem.

I really really really! Appreciate the ActionScript included in your tutorial (this is rare) but can't seem to tell whether it's AS2 or AS3. I'm going to assume its AS2 from the date of submission and actually, I'm stupid, AS3 has outlawed on (release) so it must be AS2

Hey I was wondering, I use Flash MX 2004, now whenever I make a button with text only, it doesn't become a button. It's still just text. Is there a reason for this?

in your movie, hover your mouse over the text, not the white spaces in between. can you click it now? if so it's a button but you didn't do the hit area in the tut.
