Description
*Note: This is not based upon pre-existing designs, it is my original design based on the story of Cinderella which is in Public Domain and as no one else owns the copyright, I do not believe it falls under Fanart**Also Note: Not Vector Art. See media description*
At any rate, my take on if the story of Cinderella took place in the 1960's. Carriages are passé, so she's taking the Fairy Godmother's pumpkin roadster into town for the big shin-dig. Incidentally, that roadster was what took the most time. I've never tried to retro-ize a car before. Quite honestly, it was a bit of a pain, but I'm happy with how it came out.
Medium: Original sketches drawn over in Photoshop with the pen and brush tools, not vectors since the lines and shapes rasterize. It is similar process, but by devart definitions, anything that rasterizes is not vector art.
Edited image on 9/1/04: Changed the moon just a bit. I'm a lot happier with it now.

Yes, it is, though I did the piece first and then decided to do a whole book. I have all of the rough illustrations done and the story written, I just need to do the final versions in the computer and then find out how the heck to get something published

I love her dress! I wish I owned it XD This is a wonderful update of that old Disney classic I just love this style that you're into!
Although I do adore her clothing, the mice, and her car, my favorite part of this piece has to be the town and particularly the clocktower in the background. What a clever way to fit in the most important part of this story! Really, just fantastic. I could gaze at this for hours! +fav

Very neat idea for modernizing the old fairy tale. The Shag style fits here perfectly, gives it a new sort of "swing". Good work.

the pumpkin convertible looks like fun I don't think you have to worry about copyrights... seeing that there are many many versions of the story. Selling this as a print would be nice

Nope...it's not copyrighted....For the fact that somethings' copyrights expire 50years after thier maker's death...Now a days it 70 years after the maker's death...unless done by hire then they stretch to 95 to 120 years after the makers death...in any case...I'm pretty sure the person wrote Cinderella has been dead 120 years. Very cute piece...I like the retro style you picked up...

haha this is so kool!
no i dont believe it would be copyrighted because:
1. Cinderella is a fairytale, no one knows who wrote it, or told it. there are simply different versions of it.
2. disney owns their own Cinderella, not the original
3. this is certainly a very original piece
