(Note: yes, I'm still shuffling through the backlog of messages, I'm nearly halfway there, so thanks for your patience so far
)Ok, time to jump in the 'Wayback Machine' again
I started this piece back in April of last year, but things being as hectic as they were, did not get to finish it at that time. Then when I found out Adult Swim was going to start running the show, I figured I might as well hold onto it and wait until an appropriate time to put it up.In any case, Ichigo Kurosaki from the anime/manga Bleach. (thank *Tenshiryuu for getting me hooked on it a while back).
Medium: Pencil lineart on vellum, painting done in Photoshop and Painter.
Note: I have only seen through something like episode 22 of the anime and volume 16 of the manga, so please keep any references in comments confined to what is known up to that point. Much thanks

lol, well, when I first started this, it was right after I finished [link] , so I initially was working off that same look, but then decided I do so much in neutrals and color was such a huge part of the look of the show, that I wanted to puch it up a little more. Glad it feels different, I never want to feel like I'm in a rut

The main background texture is papyrus paper that I scanned.

your work, as always, is gorgeous. I love the composition, it expresses so much about the story. If you've only read up to volume 16... I must say that your art's very intuitive for the feel and direction of the story.

Oh seriously, like I said, I just got to a particular plot point and was like, "No, they just pulled this out of thin air," but when I went back, no, it was there the whole time, just one of those things they were able to make you skim over so easily that you didn't dwell on it too much. Kudos to them. One of the few I like the anime and the manga equally, usually, it's one or the other, so even more kudos

I love the way the colors turned out... it was one of those that with so many colors you wonder if it will look right in the end, and once again, the end product proved, yes, it does look right and great
