"Oh come on, maybe that is true but this stuff is so fascinating." Blake said, as she took note that you did not appear to be much of a reader but clearly this hypnosis book had her interest, as Blake seemed a bit more excited than was per usual of the book worm.Β

I roll my eyes, clearly unconvinced. Nevertheless I finally nod.
"Fine fine, guess I do kind of owe ya for the help. Now what's this about?"

"Well, it's a technique used for relaxation. Something to help take the stress away, supposed to make someone feel good. If I read this correctly." Blake said, explaining the section on the basic hypnotic induction and its general purpose. Which seemed innocent enough and was accurate in most context.Β Β

"Relaxation eh? I could get behind that. What sort of technique are we talking about here?"

"Well, the book listed several methods to choose from. But..." Blake said, taking a moment to go to her desk drawer and pulled out what appeared to be a pocket watch, silver in color, strung along by a gold chain as she showed it to you.Β
"...going with using an induction item, such as a pocket watch, was the recommended choice." 9

"And you just...happen to have that? I mean I guess I'll give it a shot, don't have anything else to do."

"Well no, it's actually something that belongs to a friend of mine. Weiss. Just using it cause it was convenient. Let's just keep that fact between us, okay? And thank you for agreeing!"Β

"Secret is safe with me." Wisteria said with a conspiratorial wink. "And no need for thanks, like I said, I kinda owe you for the tutoring."
(Wisteria has totally been the characters name all along and I certainly didn't randomly choose it on the spot...)

Blake winks back, clearly appreciative of the gesture before she begins to go through the preparations.Β
"Alright, I just need you to sit up, make sure you are comfortable. That is good to set up what is to come and will make everything easier." Blake said with a nod as she gave her first instruction.Β

"Sounds easy enough." Wisteria said, shifting her position and leaning back a bit. "This good?"

Blake smiled as she saw Wisteria get in position before she gave a nod.Β
"Alright, I think just as a precaution and means of giving some comfort. Maybe you could suggest a safety word. Something just to snap you back out of it to play it safe. Wouldn't want to put you in too deep a trance, even if I am confident I won't, can never be too careful right?" Blake asked, as she heard this bit of reassurance was a good way to establish trust which would make everything easier.Β

"Alright. Just any old word?" Wisteria asked, seeming more confused than anything.

"Anything you want. No big requirement for this. Your choice." Blake said with a smile, as she tried to make this as clear as she could.

"Okay, uh...caramel." Wisteria said with a shrug.

Blake gave a nod to that. Caramel. Alright, Blake would make sure to make that the safe word.Β
"Alright, jet tell me when you are ready." Blake said to Wisteria, wanting to begin when she was good and ready to go.Β

"Assuming you just want me relaxed I guess I'm ready as I'll ever be." Wisteria replied, still not quite sure what she was supposed to be ready for.

Blake would simply nod, as she would show Wisteria what she was to be ready for as she would dangled the pocket watch in front of Wisteria's eyes as she began to slowly swinging; creating an arch as the watch swung back and forth as Blake began to speak with a more soothing voice than usual.Β
"Alright, all I need you to do to begin is just relax. Relax and follow the watch with your eyes and only your eyes. Nothing more, nothing less."

Wisteria's eyes followed the watch just as Blake said. She still wasn't convinced about any of this, but if Blake really wanted to try it out she didn't see any harm in playing along.

Blake saw this and it was a good first step, Wisteria trusted her enough to go along with it. Now Blake just had to help relax her to get things going.Β
"That's it, that's the way. Just focus on the watch as it swings back and forth...back and forth. Nothing else needs to be asked of you, all you need to do is just watch the watch. Relax, breath in and out as you just focus on the arch of the watch; ever so peaceful to follow, ever so soothing to admire."Β
