LaySec Securities is a private corporation based in the Republic, but hires from all across the human colonized galaxy. Though they really only take out contracts within the Republic, they have been known to venture into the Free Colonies. As said, they are a security corporation not a Private Military Contractor. They do not fight wars, only help protect corporate buildings, high level VIP's, or quite recently have been hired as the additional security for the New Frontier Expedition the Republic had begun, seeing as the republic's ground forces and soldiers for the most part are widely needed elsewhere.

Their armor is able to take the impact of smaller rounds, the impacts of blunt objects, and is highly flame retardant. In many cases LaySec forces are dispatched as a SWAT unit or with them to Dispatch angry mobs or rioters. They work within the laws of the Republic and it's member worlds and are known for their professionalism.

Though like everyone they have a darker side to them, and have committed quite a few atrocities when the Republic wasn't looking. Most of the time these actions end up swept under the rug though.
