MONSTER ISLAND
So, you wanna learn about Monster Island, eh kiddo? Well, you're in luck; we just so happen to have a map of it right here! Now obviously it's a little simplified, but the Boss wouldn't let me get into too much detail with the maps. Says that stuff is confidential. Now then, onto the locations;
THE BEACH AND THE DEEP
(KAIJU PRESENT: Titanosaurus, Manda, Rodan)
Ah, the beach. Nice and relaxing (when there's not kaiju all over it, that is) and the first thing those little virgin feet set on after the journey. Now then, this ain't no amusement park; Titanosaurus, Rodan and Manda all make themselves home along the shores, and many kaiju go here to scavenge on beached animals or to attempt to escape the premises of the island, so...it's a bit dangerous on foot.
Of course, safety is good, so we've taken the time to install a geothermally-powered force field in a 5-mile radius around the island; boats and kaiju get in, boats get out and kaiju don't. The Deep is what we call the rest of the ocean around the island in the force field; Titanosaurus and Manda love it underwater, and Rodan can feed easily. Going inland more leads to, depending on where you are in relation to the island, the Valley of Gorosaurus, the Cavern, Varan's Roost, Godzilla's Forest, Anguirus' Mountains or The Great Cliff; Titanosaurus and Manda’s dens are on opposite sides of the island's northern edge.
Speaking of the Valley...
THE VALLEY OF GOROSAURUS
(KAIJU PRESENT: Gorosaurus, Mothra, Kamacuras, Kumonga, Godzilla (occasionally), Godzilla Junior (occasionally), Anguirus (occasionally))
As the label says; it's a valley, and it's ruled by Gorosaurus. It should be noted this is the largest territory next to The Great Cliff on the island, so Gorosaurus has a lot to rule.
The Cavern, a system of caves connected to the Valley, are Gorosaurus' den (and Mothra's, oddly); disturbing the giant allosaur during his sleep is a good way to piss him off. It should be noted that, despite his carnivorous nature, Gorosaurus seems extremely placid...almost to the point of near-perpetual lethargy.
This is, in all likelihood, just because he's usually filled up on food; studies of a more hungry Gorosaurus seem to indicate a far more aggressive animal; though if it's hunger or just normal anger is to be determined. He seems to be extremely protective of the Mothra larva that has taken residence with him, and a few other kaiju have been able to enter the territory without fear.
Kamacuras seems to have a symbiotic relationship with Gorosaurus; the mantis seems to help her neighbor with no fear...but Gorosaurus seems to have a distaste for Kumonga; and meetings between the two usually end up hostile; as Kumonga preys on Kamacuras, Gorosaurus protects his aid with ferocity. Occasionally Godzilla, Junior and Anguirus can be seen here, as well, though only the first two get through without having to fight Gorosaurus.
THE SAVANNAH
(KAIJU PRESENT: Godzilla (once a week), Godzilla Junior (a fair amount), Anguirus (a fair amount), Baragon (a fair amount), Titanosaurus (occasionally), Manda (occasionally), Rodan (occasionally), Varan (occasionally), Gorosaurus (occasionally), Mothra (occasionally, usually alongside Gorosaurus))
The third-largest region of the island, and it’s heart; a ground of no specific ruler (asides from Godzilla, of course). The large, open plains are filled with grass and the occasional tree. This area is also home to the only source of fresh water on the island; Saegusa Lake (named after Mrs. Miki Saegusa, the woman who discovered the island). This means aquatic kaiju like Titanosaurus can occasionally be found in the lake in search of a meal. Because of its position in the island's heart, the lake can become a hotspot for kaiju activity...some louder than others.
Because it's effectively a neutral territory for kaiju, this is where our main outpost on the island is located. It's protected from kaiju by a infrasonic barrier, which they can hear but we cannot.
If he’s not tailing his adoptive father, Junior is often here in search of food; Anguirus and Baragon also sometimes go here. Godzilla must travel here every week; to mark his territory, and most any of the kaiju are seen here at least once every day.
Varan’s Roost
(KAIJU PRESENT: Varan)
As the name implies, this is the territory of Varan; a mutant of unknown origin. The immense rocky outcrops, cliffs, mountains and tunnels are Varan’s playground; his ability to glide is probably why he chose such a potentially-deadly area for himself. The rocks provide ample cover, roosts and enrichment for the creature; as of yet, no others have been seen with any notable frequency here besides Varan himself.
Anguirus’ Mountains
(KAIJU PRESENT: Anguirus, Baragon, Varan (occasionally))
Fairly obviously named, this large mountain range covers a fair amount of the island’s east side. The immense mountains, deep canyons and rocky ground are not the most welcoming sight for most creatures.
Of course, most creatures aren’t Anguirus.
The crocodylomorph seems to take to the extreme terrain like a crocodile to water; his cat-like agility and long legs proving extremely beneficial in the most hazardous terrain on the island. Drops of 1000+ feet are commonplace, and the highest peak on the island, Terror Hill, is a horrifying 700,000 feet in height. Anguirus, though, fears not these sheer drops or certain doom traps; his armor is able to take it and then some. In fact, he’s made a game of rolling down Terror Hill and seeing how far he can launch himself with that speed. Anguirus isn’t alone in the rocks, though; Baragon also lives in these mountains; and his burrowing is a good way to escape danger. Varan can be found here, too; on occasion.
THE GREAT CLIFF
(KAIJU PRESENT: Rodan, Varan (occasionally))
Despite its name, this region is not all that great; it’s actually rather small. The highest point is only 100,000 feet, and it’s not nearly as dangerous as Anguirus' domain. A labyrinthine set of underground tunnels lead from here and snake to The Caverns and the underground dens of Manda and Titanosaurus. Nobody knows why they exist, though Miss Saegusa speculates it to have been dug by a kaiju.
This is Rodan's primary roosting point on the island, as not many other kaiju like bother scaling the cliffs, preferring to comb the beaches for food, instead. Varan can also sometimes bee seen sunbathing on the rocks here.
GODZILLA’S FOREST
(KAIJU PRESENT: Godzilla, Godzilla Junior)
Perhaps the most densely-forested sector of the island; this boreal forest is home to Godzilla and his son. Exactly how this is a boreal forest is unclear; it’s next to a savannah…though the nearby mountain range may also be why. The cool temperatures and dense cover are thusly a good hunting location, and the fact that it’s next to a beach also means that beachcombing’s an option.
The center of the forest features a large hole; this is the entrance to Godzilla’s and Junior’s den. The deep forest is ample cover for the two to hide, and Godzilla marks his territory often; first on Tuesdays and again on Thursdays.
Because of the fact he’s currently raising a child completely on his own, Godzilla is insanely territorial; even close friends like Anguirus and Rodan must enter with caution. Because of this, Godzilla and Junior tend to be alone in the territory.

Yeah; I suppose I should clarify that Gorosaurus was one of the "Original 5"; those being Gorosaurus, Rodan, Anguirus, Manda and Titanosaurus, and Gorosaurus has the most expansive turf because he's both established dominance and is hyperaggressive, and so nobody really tries to take things from him; lest they desire to be pulped by Gorosaurus and his hyperagressive nature (mostly due to being from Mondo Island, where he has to compete with giant apes).
The only thing Gorosaurus doesn't attack at least once is Mothra; so usually the island's security team have to keep Gorosaurus in his own area most of the time. Failure to do so usually causes an outbreak of fighting between Gorosaurus and another kaiju in the area, usually Kumonga or Kamacuras. Godzilla doesn't try to usurp Gorosaurus because he has an adopted offspring and, well, let's just say at some point Godzilla tries it, gets himself pulped, and remembers not to try it again.
Basically, he's what one could call sort of the antagonistic bear archetype...just a gigantic dinosaur with the fighting abilities of Jakie Chan. Which is probably even worse. XD
