"History shows again and again, How nature points up the folly of men."Been awhile since I drew Godzilla, so I decided to draw the new design from the upcoming movie! Shin Gojira (Also titled Godzilla Resurgence) is going to be a darker Kaiju movie that takes the King of the Monsters back to his roots. The new design is divisive to say the least, but I for one like it. I don't love it, in fact I hope Godzilla heals throughout the movie until he looks more like his usual self, but I think it looks pretty cool. I took some liberties with the design (giving it beefier arms and the lower torso is guesswork) but I think I did a pretty good job of capturing the scarred look of Japan's violent enraged radioactive nemesis.

Ya gotta admit, it's perfect for kind of movie they are trying to make though. I like the design from what I've seen but I'll reserve final judgement until I see him in action.

... yeah it is but the only reason why i will see the movie is to see if he's gonna fight any other monsters casue if it the movie IS an reboot of the very first godzilla movie they have to at leash put in another kaiju for shin to fight if i see him do better than 2014 i may like him im not to sure

As far as I've heard, the new Gojira is supposed to be CGI part of the time and the traditional person in the suit the other part of time. Still, I'm keeping my fingers (and toes, and eyes) crossed that this new Gojira and film are loads better than that 2014 movie.

I've heard rumors that the practical effects side of things was scrapped and they are going full CGI, which I really hope isn't true. I for one loved the Legendary Godzilla movie and I hope Shin Gojira is as good if not better.

The design of the 2014 Godzilla I enjoyed... when I could actually see it in the movie that is. While going for realism is a good thing to make films more believable, making the night scenes so hard to see that it was basically "black with sound effects" wasn't a good move.
All that said, I hope the 2016 film is the best Gojira film!

Huh, most people say they didn't like how much they cut away from the Kaiju scenes, I actually never had a problem seeing what was going on during the night scenes.
As for Shin Gojira, here here! Hopefully this movie is a smashing success and paves the way for future Toho Godzilla movies.

One thing to consider, if this 2016 film is a success, we must consider a reboot of Gojira's greatest rival....
If the 2016 Gojira is the most nightmarish Gojira yet, can you imagine the nightmare of Gojiras Destoroyah getting an even scarier (and more powerful) form?

That would be awesome! Destroyah is definitely one of my favorite Kaiju.
Even more than Destroyah though I would love to see Godzilla's arch nemesis, King Ghidorah, return to his full glory! I really want to see the three headed golden dragon as an evil marauding space demon again!
