First this is an amazing tutorial. One that I needed desperately.
But I also have to point out that the length of the fingers changes depending on gender.
Most men have a ring finger slightly longer than their index finger, while on most women they are equal.

I love seeing hand tutorials! I always have trouble drawing hands because, like any other part of the body, they differ from person to person. My sister's hands are really slender and feminine, while mine aren't as long and skinny. Another thing that I noticed is that my ring finger is longer than my index (by 1 cm), and that's more common in guys than girls...
My friends make fun of me for my hitch-hiker's thumb too.

I have the same problem with the hitch-hiker's thumb too... it's gotten into my sketches whenever I do hands. I didn't notice I had hitch-hiker's thumb until a friend pointed out that he only had one, the other thumb was perfectly straight. Now I can't help but notice... On another note, hands are the bane of my drawing life and ANY tutorial on them is artist-sent.

I agree! I also have to find tutorials on feet. I dislike feet in general (since mine are so not cute haha), but it's absolutely necessary for me to draw them for my current art project. I guess it's something that's impossible to avoid for any type of artist....
