Description
Another tea time painting. This one was inspired by a photo I keep on my fridge of my grandfather and little cousin. The majority of children born into my family have been girls, so at one point or another fathers and grandfathers alike participated in girly activities. I don't expressly remember having tea time with my grandfather, but I do remember using my mother's good china for my parties. This is also dedicated to my Grandfather who passed away this year. He used to tell me I looked beautiful every time he saw me. That meant the world to me. Love you Papa.

Awww that is so sweet that your grandpa told you you were beautiful every time he saw you. That's so touching. I'm only close with my immediate family and my grandparents. He's the only one who has passed away, and I never felt what other people really felt when their loved ones pass until the day of his funeral. I was a mess. Thank you for sharing this piece of art.

I had many a tea party with my daughter when she was younger and now I'm looking forward to tea parties with my grand daughter.
This is very sweet and very cute. The fine details are just outstanding.

I love this. It perfectly encompasses the evident love in the room- little one's bubbling enthusiasm and the grandfather's affection. Congrats on the Well-deserved DD!

I love this drawing, it makes me cry. It also reminds me of my own Grandpa, who passed away 2 years ago. Even his face, glasses and clothing were similar.

The grandfather looks like the antaloupe from the Pixar short, Boundin'!

Why can't my roommate leave my stuff alone?! Anyway, I'm pretty sure he meant Jackalope, not antaloupe

I realize this has been up for a little while now, but I think it's always good to get comments on anything in your gallery regardless of age. So... let me begin by saying CONGRATS on the DD!
I just love the overall warm atmosphere you've managed to incorporate into this painting. Between the young girl's joyous face and the grandfather's smile, the love is very clearly portrayed here.
I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather's passing, but I think this is a very fitting tribute to him, and I believe he'd be very proud of this (and of you)! Thank you for sharing this with us!

This nice change of pace from what is regularly featured on this website. I find it to be warm and endearing. What stands out the most is that this personal moment gets rid of assigned gender roles. As mentioned before of the fathers or grandfathers participating in girly activities. You did a great job.

Wonderfully chosen colors for it, too. The palette gives a storybook feel.

The piece was only made better by the artist's comments that spoke to me and reminded me fondly of my own Grandfather.
