Description
First of all, thank you to everyone who followed and commented on this WIP. It took about a week to finish. Everyone who commented and faved and watched kept me motivated on this very tedious drawing.This is a portrait of Lacey Chabert. I really was looking for inspiration about a week ago because I wanted to draw, I just could not find anything that motivated me. Then e-mailed me some gorgeous pictures of Lacey Chabert (who I am kind of obsessed with). So she's the one who gave me inspiration for this drawing. Thank you Zindy. This drawing is dedicated to you.

HEY I LOVE THAT STYLE OF U BROTHER...FOR REAL..IT IS SO COOL..BLURRY ZONES. CLEAR ZONES..DARKER ZONES... This is a wonderful drawing. I noticed it mentioned in other comments but the "focus" of this is easily the most fascinating part to me. Did you plan it this way or did it just come together as you worked? Its also unusual to see a portrait of someone where the subject is not looking out (as in at the audience of the image).
out of curiousity about how big was the reference photo relative to the final drawing?

those contrasts are excellent it looks so realistic. I love the way you did the really white hairs against the dark background.
The way you put her in crisp sharp focus and the rest a bit blured and out of focus contributes to the realism further.

Hmm, after watching it for at least an hour (seriously) I can't say nothing but, amazing!
Beautifull eyes and hair, nice blurry effect and the light makes it so real
I'm a beginning pencil artist, and it makes me so enthousiastic to see what you can do with it

When I first started out I thought that there were tricks and secrets as to how people could be so good at drawing. But when I asked people for their tricks and secrets, they always said "just take your time, be patient, and draw as much as you can". I didn't like their advice because I didn't understand it but turns out, they were good words of advice.
Just know that you will not be the best artist overnight. If you are willing to work hard at drawing, your results will be great.

Ah ok thank you, I'm really willing to work hard for it.
But what I got is a box of pencils and an eraser... I'm sure there are better things out there (which I don't know) to make good drawings. I know it has a lot to do with practice, but good equipment may help too, am I wrong?
I think it's better for me to practice than drooling all over other people's work hehe, but on the otherhand it inspires me also.

once again bravo! you really did well here, I particularly like how the neck and collarbone is slightly out of focus, real photographic....like... lol, The hair, although youve always done a wonderful job, is excellent here, youre sooo good.

Oh, haha, thank you! Yeah, I tried to follow the reference pretty close with that one. I liked how the face was in focus and most everything else was out of focus.

my god... this is one of the best pencil drawing's i have ever layed my eyes upon. the detail is immaculate. the shading is pristine! only 22 hours?! you are an art god. i bow to thee. that musta been some inspiration...... just adding you to my watchlist........
