Description
2560x1600 on d/l linkEdit: Updated main file with a higher quality version. Original has a slight star-step to the main spline. This one is smoother as I originally envisioned it

Amazing print... I am buying this as soon as I get enough cash. Great render. Do you think I could get a signed canvas somehow?

I'd totally buy this print if I could, but I'm saving up for a new computer.
Well, at least I can give you a fave and a llama, and a nice comment.

I'm totally paranoid about losing scenes.Β Β I have multiple backup copies of every 3d scene I've ever made, along with copies of earlier versions of each one because I save often during the process.Β I just checked my primary graphics archive and I have 5731 3ds max scene files dating back to 17-4-2004.Β

Oh believe me, I am the same way!! I just checked and I have aboutΒ 2680 files, mostly backups asΒ go along. And that is not counting the many many phases of TopMod, Wings3D etc.
But, this script I used for the spline root for the above shape, it does NOT have a sense of recall, at all. And each time C4D starts, it remembers the last settings only. Once you close the program or eve nsave the scene, the actual parameters used are not remembered per scene. YOu only have the resulting shape from whatever settings were used. So while I can certainly re-use this one, I can't replicate a SIMILAR one without lots of trial and error. It has 3 primary settings plus three more size settings.
Anyway, it is all part of the fun in the process. The reason I want to re-create this particular one is to refine the generated spline with more points. The one above is a bit stair-stepped if you look closely. It is driving me INSANE

My paranoia started back in like 2001 when I used to make music on my PS2 with MTV Music Generator 2, some drunk and high asshole friend of a friend fucked around with my memory card and deleted some of my best tracks, I had no backup copies.Β Worst feeling in the world.

I don't even need an drunk asshole friend. I have self inflicted wounds ... recently, I re-structured a RAID array I swore was off-line. Turned out to have about 100,000 of my prized photographs. OUCH!!! All I have to say, thank god for recovery software and thank god for good memory (mine) ... This happened 6 months ago and I am still manually renaming files found as img0001.jpg, img0002.jpg, etc. into the original filenames...
Now I take like 5 steps of checking before even deleting one folder!
