just read your reply to mark tamaro - here on dA i learned the expression "to be on a roll" - yes, you have to take advantage as long as it lasts - i´m always thankful for these waves... this is a very cool piece indeed, keep it up...

Oh David, I am so humbled you posted here. Your tutorials are absolutely PRICELESS. I have learned so much from you... not only technically but also artistically. Very inspiring!

Between Wings and Bryce and Octane, it is difficult to know what to experiment with next or first or which way around to send things. I would say that Bryce has the most flexibility in terms of what it can produce, but it is limited in terms of producing geometry, but not as limited as Octane which doesn't even have a primitive! Wings is great fun to play with making shapes, but it is easy to loose hours just making different types of cubes.
I was very taken with some of your Sculptgen (?) generated models, I would quite like to have a go at something like that in Wings...

Thanks David. The interface is VERY simple and very limited but you could tweak the knobs enough to give lots of variations

Just need the Zip and it runs without install. Looking forward to see what you turn up!
Cheers...

Thanks for the link. Have had a go. Nice program. I've exported a file .stl? I don't know what to do with it. Wings3D has it as in import option but it refuses to read it. TopMod does not have this option. Nor does Bryce or Octane. Or UVmapper. And... I think that is all the software I've got that might read a 3D model. Any ideas?

Oh and make sure you GIVE IT the extension. I have too many programs that refuse to read a file if it does not have an extension which is silly...

Try MeshLab, it seems to handle this stuff really well!

This is friggin awesome! Very unique shape, I love the way it seems to loop back on itself like some sort of higher dimensional object. It reminds me of the graphic representation of string theory on wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Cal... The colours are fantastic too!

Hey thanks ... And thanks for the link to Wiki... gives me great ideas.
The above was inspired by David but I then went a little nuts on his mods... some really messed me up (stability wise) and crashed Wings a lot lol. Finally, I decided to try a different root shape and voila. Nice thing is that they yield a lot of options in one shape. IF I move it a bit it looks completely different!
As for the colors, I am really ADDICTED to this stage. I have been using it exclusively lately hahahaha
