Description
Port Grief on the sea of tears, a natural deep water harbour in the crumbling caldera of an extinct volcano.Originally a military garrison built by the old Empire to defend the lucrative southern trade routes from marauding pirates, the governor of the port was quick to declare independence as the empire crumbled and soon became both wealthy and corrupt.
Now decades later the Privateers of Port Grief are feared throughout the sea of tears and the city thrives on slavery, spices and treasures gleaned from the steaming jungles of the Jade coast.
Years ago now I drew the first Port Grief for my 3.5 campaign, as I recently upgraded to a tablet I thought I would do a little practice updating it for an upcoming 5th Edition campaign turning it from a small town to a proper city sized map. This is the simplified contour version, the high detailed one will be finished sometime this century as its taking me forever but I'm enjoying the challenge of improving my skills though I'm still looking for a better graphics program.

This version, in bog standard Win10 Paint with the addition of the road names using another program.
I then used Krita and my new tablet for the high detail version, so glad I finally got round to getting a graphics tablet.

I used paint.net for the text, to be honest, there is no difference at all between win7 and win 10 paint programs that I'm aware of.
