Description
The worst thieves and murderers of the Jade Coast all fear the legends of Stonegate Prison, a place many men enter but few ever leave.
Sat on craggy island veiled by granite cliffs with only one safe harbour for shallow draft ships the prison has weathered through storms and rescue attempts by pirate fleets with equal stone faced fortitude.
The guards are proud to claim that no man has ever escaped from the island, but rumours still speak of men going missing from the deep cells, of people going mad from the whispers in the dark and strange hooded figures prowling the halls in the dead of night.
Those poor wretches who have served their time and been released from Stonegate if offered enough strong drink have been known to whisper that a man can escape if he is truly desperate enough, but that the price is his very soul.

Another old campaign map we had a lot of fun with, Stonegate does indeed house strange secrets namely a hidden temple of Vecna, concealed behind an illusionary wall in the deep cells. Originally the party were tasked with investigating the repeated suicides of men due for release to see if the prison guards were concealing actual escapes. Of course it turned out the men were indeed found dead and buried on the island but only after they had been sacrificed at the temple that half the guard were secretly members of...
