about 100 bucks all in all
as you can see in the link in the description, i used a non-macro lens which i already had and reversed it
the only things i bought in addition were a set of kenko tubes and some thread adapters

i also work with a macro lens now, it's more versatile than reversing lenses

Whoa. That's close. Would be pretty cool if you can get close enough to see the camera in its segmented eyes huh?

uhh, not easy
here is a 100% crop [link]
you can still not see the camera but this is also due to the fact that it is behind the flash and therefore simply too dark

I like this one a lot, great magnification. I can actually see that the eyes consist of small triangle-like flakes. Nice

wohaaaa - das is ja mal krass!

and this is amazing too. why don't you buy mp e 65??
π: 0 β©: 1
graemo In reply to elinaa [2004-08-22 12:51:45 +0000 UTC]
because it's a totally unversatile single purpose 1000 β¬ lens that doesn't offer more magnification than i already have?

elinaa In reply to graemo [2004-08-22 13:19:04 +0000 UTC]
i think you can get even closer. i think it's 5:1
π: 0 β©: 1
graemo In reply to elinaa [2004-08-22 13:38:02 +0000 UTC]
i know it does, who says i can't?
and you'd pay 1000 β¬ for the difference between 4.5:1 and 5:1?
anyway, my current setup goes to 8-9:1 [link] but that's beyond useful
