Seriously, I love Lucario. But I sometimes think I'm one of the remaining few in the fandom who remembers this. There's PLENTY of fantastic art to see, I kid you not, but some people take it too far in my opinion. Lucario is a pokemon. End of story. It does not exist in World of Warcraft, it does not exist in Middle Earth, it does not exist in Call of Duty, it does not exist in Warhammer *coughmikegtscough*, and it most certainly does not exist in real life. Fan of Lucario? Great. More power to you. Want to take creative license and change Lucario? Possess it with demons maybe? (Might I suggest . His stuff ROCKS.) Deck out in cool accessories? Create a fancharacter even? Cool. There's NOTHING wrong with that. I'm serious. However, IF it is your desire to create a fancharacter or other such things, REMEMBER. Remember who/what your fancharacter is, and that is a Lucario. And Lucario is a pokemon. And that is all he is and ever will be.Related content

I know and people forget this about all pokemon and draw them in their dirty, mean or sexual pictures. I think some people should think more. I am so disgusted when I see a lucario with unusually large bust and other non lucario thiings. Sometimes you have to just question what they were thinking.

Like I said in my last comment here, there's nothing wrong with showing some creativity when it comes to making a character. Yeah, he's a Poke'mon, but it doesn't mean that you can't give him different styles and apparel (like clothes, gear, weapons, etc.) and still keep him true to the original formula. If the idea is neat and doesn't commit the horrid atrocity of turning Lucario into a generic furry, then there's nothing wrong with it.

I have no qualms with creativity. It's made me who I am and it's extremely important to mankind. HOWEVER, some of that creativity can be a bit misguided. To me it's a lot about where the character came from. A few accessories that aren't outlandishly ridiculous (OMG SHE HAS A HANDBAG KAWAII DESU DESU) is okay, but then, where did they come from? Pokemon don't have stores out in the wild, there's no sort of place you can go to dye your fur, and you're not going to find a wristband/necklace/scarf/shirt just lying around in the woods. And if you did, would you really want to wear it? Same thing goes for gear and weapons. "My lucario has a sword! And my other one has three grenades and a gun!" Well, where did they come from? Weapons and armor are definitely not something you find lying around. And if they have a trainer, why on earth would the trainer give them those? Why would the trainer have them in the first place? Humans almost certainly make better soldiers than pokemon (greater mental capacity, there's a reason humans are the dominant species in the pokemon world) so why?
All the things considered, it's certainly no easy task creating a fancharacter that stays true to the original formula, isn't a mary-sue, and is creative and cool. But if you can, then that's great and I respect that. (Plus, I really hate furries. They ruin everything.)

I understand where you're coming from. It pisses me off as well when kids do that, especially when they pull out character ideas and custom jobs like that out of their ass without giving some sort of believable reason for it.
Sure as hell not easy. I've had the problem of my own character being like a Mary-Sue that goes against Lucario's true character. I've done a decent job at patching many of these problems up, but it's never perfect. (And yes, furries in general are one of the main reasons why most see Lucario in a negative light, especially when you see the ridiculously high number of gay pronz picts of him on sites luke Fur Affinity. Disgusting.

Quite frankly I've never really respected Lucario, but only because people are making him into what he isn't. I respected him when he was straight up poke'mon, but then people attempted to morph him into an "Original Character" by giving him "unique powers". I've even seen people going as far as making Lucario transforming into a goddamn dragon. A. Goddamn. Dragon. Hell, even a fucking CAR! Yeah, that's right. A. Car. As in vroom vroom speed racer car. It's ridiculous!
So, quite frankly, Lucario use to be cool for what he was, then people made him conform to their ideals, and perverted the image of a really neat idea into a fancharacter galore.

Trust me, I've seen it all. And it ain't pretty. The worst part is a very select few of the FC's are somewhat neat. Now being neat is fine and dandy, some of the examples I've seen manage to be really cool while keeping the original idea in mind. The problem is that they aren't really yours. You can draw them, you can write about them, you can think about them, but you can never actually DO anything with them. The idea never belonged to you. White Lucario with Blue markings. Yeah, cool. Even if you DON'T make it a complete Mary-Sue (I won't mention names, dragons and cars anyone?) you can still never use it for something that's going to help you out at some point. Congratulations. But then people take it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too far. Pokemon do not turn into mythical beasts. Pokemon do not turn into cars. End of story. And let's not forget all the kinds of funky accessories "artists" are slapping all over. (I seriously had to look away after glancing at this [link] although don't bother the artist. She didn't make up that character and she's actually really nice.) I've even made up some of my own FC's at one point. God knows what I was thinking but I have since then all but scrapped them. (I might resurrect them at some point. AS HUMANS.) So now Lucario is basically a sparkledog. It's depressing really.

It's rather depressing indeed. I've occasionally made tribute characters, but there is a difference between a tribute character and a Fancahracter. A tribute character is simply a themed character (i.e. I made a serial Killer character after watching character because I loved how Dexter was), but I managed to make him into my own style. And I actually do know one of the characters in that picture, there. I use to know him but now I ceased talking to him. But all I can say is his characters were... ridiculous.

I've made tributes as well, although for now I am completely unable to disclose them. Oh and BELIEVE ME, I know who you're talking about. I used to talk to him a lot too but he blocked me as soon as I called him out for E-begging. The thing is though, that isn't him. The artist of this picture pretty much cloned that character and made one that looked exactly the same for herself. Even keeping the name and the dragon-transform ability. The funniest part, she made him slightly LESS Mary-Sueish in the process. (But only slight.)

E-Begging is pretty much when you beg people for money/commissions/subscriptions/etc. over the internet. It's SHAMEFUL; and on the off chance they offer something in return, it's usually something stupid like a llama.
Anyhow yeah, really.

Lol, it's hilarious that shit like that exists out there. One thing personally that pisses me off is when kinds create Lucario OCs that act, behave, and are treated like human beings. Hellkiller was a huge perpetrator of that (as well as the Dragon and car bullshit, lawl). I never really got into detail on Strauss' story, which is probably why some would assume him to be the same as this.
