Description Full-body conversion transplants a human brain (and a minimal complement of organs) into a cybernetic body. The Gemini cybersystem emulates human appearance in both form and function. Its ExoDerm surfacing looks and (almost) feels like skin and Pinocchio subprocessors maintain human body temperature and imitate breathing and blinking. (Naturally, this cutaway view is not how a Gemini normally looks.)

The original black & white illustration was published in the second ChromeBook, a supplement for RTG's Cyberpunk 2020 game. This colored version is new as of 2013. Man, I really need to redraw the human half.

Gemini lineart and concept are copyright and everything else R. Talsorian Games, no infringement implied nor intended, etc.

Yep, a MrStudd(tm) sexual implant is a standard feature.

was it intentional he so much resemble the Six Million Dollar Man, or was that a happy coincidence?

You mean in the face? It was totally a happy coincidence. I suppose I could have colored his hair blonde or something, but I didn't want it to stand out.

I kinda figured it was either subtle homage or sheer coincidence, considering how it was a not-quite-resemblance in the "squint and headtilt" manner.

Just saw the first two episode of the 70's TV show "The six million dollar man." last night. This guy looks way tougher, and much more expensive.

Heh! I used to watch that show when it aired back in the 70s, when I was just a little child. And of course, he only had one bionic arm, two bionic legs, and one bionic eye. Much more of a classical, everyday cyborg by Cyberpunk RPG standards.

I liked this one, since I felt there had to be an anime tribute full-body borg that favored Bubblegum Crisis instead of Appleseed. It's how I'd like my borg NPCs in a standard Mekton campaign to be, emerging as a nasty surprise to the players than just showing up as a chromed monster mini-roadstriker. I've used both versions in different campaigns, but this version is the one I prefer for story reasons. 'Cause BGC & Ridley Scott can't be wrong!

Amen to everything you said there! I'm really glad you appreciate this one. And I tell ya, mixing CP2020 with Mekton can be a real can of worms... as I'm sure you've experienced for yourself.

I did my first 'borg for a Mekton II-based campaign, improvising the design even as the Cyberpunk 2012 rules were published. He was one of the chief villains of the campaign, yet he was only an agent for the greater evil to come. Mekton Zeta and Cyberpunk 2020 ultimately combined rather well, although much math was involved.

A Humanity Cost of 16d6+2... That is an average 58, with most people having an average Humanity of 55. Even with all those dice pushing results towards average, there is still a good chance that you could roll one extreme or another. In most cases, this will turn someone into a mental patient. It is quite a gamble for having such a kickass cyberbody. So you've gotta ask yourself a question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?

Wait, what am I saying? Humanity is so way overrated in Cyberpunk - how can you loose what you never had to begin with!?! Chop-off whatever needs to go, and strap that baby on! This six-million-dollar-man has some skulls to bust!

Good work coloring it in. The only odd thing is pretty pink nipple. It would look good on a female figure, but looks off on a guy - maybe if it was darker or muted in color.

Heh, exactly! That humanity cost can be brutal... or it can be FUN.

You're right about the nip. Will fix. Thanks!

"Steve Austin... Astronaut... A man barely alive. We can rebuild him... We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster. ".

Grebo-Guru In reply to KronnangDunn [2013-08-18 05:24:51 +0000 UTC]

And then we realized we'd made a mistake. So we re-rebuilt him. We have better technology. We now have the capability to make the world's first completely bionic man. The Gemini will be that man. Even better than he was before. Much better, much stronger, much faster. And now lifting cars and punching holes in walls can't tear his bionic arm from its socket or crush his spine and pelvis. This is... the Bionic Man 2020.

Haha, wow, my original story idea I used for my university's senior project involved something like this, a nearly fully cybernetic body but with still some human organs implemented, but only a bare minimum to get rid of things like needing sleep and food and water.. making perfect soldiers. (Just no use of a human-looking epidermis for them XD) I really love how it looks like for the system beneath the created skin... cybernetics are always fascinating.

Grebo-Guru In reply to Stormsworder [2013-08-18 05:27:53 +0000 UTC]

Cybernetics sure are fascinating, Stormsworder. (Nice handle, too. Zoids fan?) And yeah, there are of course plenty of Full 'Borgs in which don't even try to pass for human. Check out my "Cyberpunk" folder to see a bunch of them.

(Yep, Zoids fan! I had to shorten the name to fit into PHantasy Star Online, and I just sorta stuck with it). Hehe, nice, thanks! Always awesome to get ideas for cybernetic tech. I think Deus Ex: Human Revolution has made me fall in love with it XD

no problem! If I order a print of it, do you receive some of the profits? It would make a cool poster

I've never had anyone want prints before, but as I understand it, yes, I get some of the profits. I'm glad you think it would make a cool poster! (Personally, I think I could have done a little better on the regular human half of the picture. :-\ )

Yes, hopefully with my upcoming paycheck I will be able to afford it, unfortunately I will only have the dough for a small one. I can agree with the human half of the picture, but the cybernetic half is great. I have been trying to surround myself with inspiration as of late, and this does inspire me slightly, LOL
