Description
I drew this thing quite a long time ago, for R.Talsorian Games' "Mekton Mecha Manual vol.1." Back then it was in pure B&W, but it was only a matter of time -- a LONG time -- until I colored it. So, here it is.BTW, the B&W lineart can be seen here:
grebo-guru.deviantart.com/art/...
I also took the opportunity to fix the ugliness of the original rocket launchers (freehand is not always your friend).
As usual, it's all copyright and trademark and property and everything of R. Talsorian Games, no infringement implied nor intended, etc etc.

Thanks! Yeah, when I draw transformable mecha I do my best to design something that could actually work if a toy or model were made of it.

That is exactly what I go for when I draw machines too :3 Do you also build figures or customize toys? -^.^-

Excellent! And yeah, I co customize a lot of toys and model kits as well. Here are a few:
Dragon Acroyear Sanguinar
Cobra's Chameleon
Dragon Acroyear Drachse
Arden Dark - Eclipse Mode
I have a ton of Transformers, GI Joe, Mega Bloks/Construx, and other figures I've customized. I feel like I should have multiple gallerys -- drawing, coloring, and custom toys.

I like this way more than the V Gundams Tomlait. Yea...... This design is very solid. A kit would be cool to have.

Gosh, thanks!
Yeah, not a fan of the Tomliat. Beam Rotors are a fun idea and all, but the Murphy's way more fun.
I really appreciate your comments! I always like to imagine that my designs could one day be made into toys or kits.

I always thought this thing needed a 4-blade rotor variant, with two of the blades being adaptable to variable-metaform bladed melee weapons. That may be because I always like to have a backup on my designs, and it may be because I've always been partial to Springer from TF: The Movie.
Only The Shadow knows for sure!

Ugh, do I have to? Can I ask TF: Prime Megs instead? I mean, he's not a helo, but he's a much better villain.

Oy vey, Robotech's VFH-10 "Ajax" AGAC (Advanced Gyro Assault Chopper)?Β
Originally, in Southern Cross, it was the TASCβ’02-SCF "Auroran" MAAH (Multipurpose Armored Assault Helicopter) but in my opinion it's a pretty yucky mecha design no matter what you call it. It may have looked and acted kinda spiffy in animation, but god, when you look at the line art, it's just icky.Β
Such a shame, too! After all, a variable helicopter is a damn cool thing! The only other ones that appeared in animation which come to my mind are the also-ugly Oberon Gazette (from Dorvack, better known as Whirl from Transformers G1) and the charmingly frumpy Murphy (which made a brief appearance in G Gundam).Β
There have been a lot of really good variable choppers in the Transformers line in the 21st century, but of course those aren't "real robots" (as it were).
Anyway! All that yammering is my way of saying that I've long wanted there to be more Real Robot type variable helicopters. Which, of course, is why I drew one.
I really oughtta revisit this thing someday... do a MarkII or something.
