Description This Vertank (Vertical Tank) is named after the Slavic god of beasts. It's the first Mekton featured in "Mekton Mecha Manual Volume One," way back in 1994. It was just lineart in the book, but I colored it in Photoshop recently. (I admit the coloring job isn't all that impressive.) Anyway, this stuff is copyright and everything R. Talsorian Games, no infingement, etc.

BTW, here's a sketch of a heavy weapons variant: [link]

I suppose you were in a MADOX-01 mood when you made this one?

I thought I was in more of a Destroid mood, but I can see your side as well.

Glad you like it! As for stats, they're in the "Mekton Mecha Manual volume 1"... which might be available as a PDF download through talsorian's site. (Although I don't know for sure.) Send me a direct message if you want to know more.

What does he have for weapons? Obviously two cannons/machine guns.

Grebo-Guru In reply to DiamondSeer [2013-06-09 03:54:54 +0000 UTC]

Yep, a machinegun in each arm, plus the "bricks" (two on each shoulder and three in the crotch) are missile pods. I like to imagine that the bricks/pods could be modular -- a single brick could hold a lot of micromissiles, or 4-or-5 medium missiles, or one badass cruise missile.

Also, I sketched a heavy weapons variant: [link]

I thought as much. They had the missile look. Hmm. . .

Never played Mekton, but always wanted to buy it!

The coloring on it is great! Love the camo!!!

As a small critique: I would have made the shadows just a tad darker. To give it just a bit more depth. Not much maybe another 5 to 8 % more on the opacity....

Thanks for the compliments and the advice. I'll do it.

I should clarify just a bit more on the shadows, after looking at it again, darken the shadows only on the areas that are colored with camouflage. The other colors, grays etc look good.

Do you have any other lineart from Mekton? I would love to try a recolor myself!
