Description
I was sick the last two days (stomach first, horrible headache next) and all I could bring myself to do was simple stuff I already had on hand, not the more complex pokemon stuff I've been working hard on; so I decided to finalize this guy.

- The beast from hell, Jahanamu is the lion that usurped Macheo's original pride, the Sun kingdom. He came one day, rallied a bunch of males from nearby prides that were tired of the current monarchs, and charged in head first. They killed the royal family and captured all the lionesses (only missing a few that ran away with prince Macheo); He became the king, no one dared to challange him, he appointed two of the males he trusted the most as his enchmen, and sent the others back to their own prides. Jahanamu was a tyrant, he took whatever he wanted, when he wanted it; he never had an appointed mate, he just claimed a few lionesses as his, and left the rest to the other two. Rogues and challangers dumb enough to fight him were brutally killed, male cubs would be exiled when they started growing thier manes; and if one of them came back to claim the throne, he'd suffer the same fate. Many tried but none ever managed to defeat the fire demon; what eventually brought about his downfall however, was his overconfidence. Jahanamu wasn't a dumb brute, he knew that even with all his strenght, he needed strong supporters, so when his two enchmen became too old for his liking, he selected their most recent sons, allowed them to stay longer, and had them kill off their fathers when they were young adults, to then replace them.
What he didn't expect was that the two would then start plotting behind his back, planning with the lioness and their own exiled brothers to overthrow him; by the time they were ready the king was starting to get old, with now a whole pride fighting against him, he had little chance; he still fought hard, and had his massive size to back him up, but in the end he had to run away. They chased him for quite a while, wanting to free the savannah from his presence, but couldn't find him without scattering, which would've been a death sentece; so they let him be.
Furious, but still wanting a pride to rule over, the devilish lion remembered of a nearby pride he would often visit in secret to fool around with one of the local lionesses; the Pridelands, so that's where he went. He brought hell with him, it took the combined effort of all the males in the pride, to bring Jahanamu down, and even then it wasn't without casualities; one of the lions that died that day was Macheo, the old king; they had recognized each other and so he was the first to get the full blunt of the brute's charge.
Ok, so, I didn't change much from the initial sketch, I just fixed the proportions, I really liked the pose as well so I kept it the same; it feels like he's showing off all of his scars, which tbh he would totally do, he wears them like prizes. I love how this came out, he's such an handsome devilish brute. He's so big and needed so much space to show off all of his scars properly that I had to cut down on the number of characters on the sheet, and yes, he's a giant lion. I usually don't draw characters wirh their claws out on their refs, even if they keep them extended often, but I made an exception here, since they're overgrown and unusually long. He's Choyo's father by the way, but more about that down in the lady's desc.

- Dhaifu is one of the daughters of one of Jahanamu's enchmen, she was born very frail and with little expectations to survive at first, but she managed to get to adulthood. She got the golden pelt of the sun kingdom from her mother and despite her bony frame she was considered quite the beauty between the members of the pride, and eventually the king himself laid his eyes on her. She was his last lioness to bear him cubs, two boys that were just as weak as her; he wasn't all that impressed, considering he was starting to get old and wanting an heir to replace him before it was to late; he wanted a strong son he could train and that could pry the throne from his claws in a fight, not those two runts. Before long however, he was overthrown, any remaining heirs he had were killed, male or female; no one objected, the pride wanted the bloodline of that beast gone. Dhaifu couldn't bring herself to harm her own cubs, or let her own half-brother kill them, so she ran away from the pride to live as a rogue, it wasn't easy especially with two young cubs to take care of; she knew none of the neighboring prides would want the spawn of the tyrant in their territory either, so she had to stay on free lands. When the boys were old enough to help her out things did start to get better, until she got killed in a hunting accident; the two brothers had a huge fight over it and ended up splitting apart.
Say hi to Choyo's mama! I wanted her to look pretty but also to be really small and frail, he had to get it from somewhere after all; and yes, this does mean she's the source for the weak gene that will carry on to Taka, Nuka and even Johari ("king Joe"). The scar on her neck isn't from any fight, it's actually something all of Jahanamu's "mates" have, he would get quite rough in the "heat of passion" and often left scars, he didn't do it intentionally but he didn't try to restrain himself either.

Adding these two to the family tree as well, so seeing where they belong in the timeline is easier.

Ok, got this one out of my system, I really like the character design Jahanamu has I have to be honest, it was fun drawing him.... I have more characters in the plans, the three princesses more specifically; but first I want to get back to the pokemon piece I was woring on before I got sick. I's a long overdue HeadCanon infodump on one of my favorite pokemon and I can't wait to write it all down once the picture set is done.
