Some more loose sketches I made to relax after I got tangled again into researching/accumulating concept art for tlk2 (it's umbelivably hard to do), I also used several things from magazines/books and an old PC game, but since finding actual links to all the things again is impossible, I just put my references right next to the drawings.

Note: I don't know if I'm going to use these designs, I just wanted to try and create characters based on the early drafts of Simba's Pride; I don't necessarily want to use these designs in my HC for now.

- Shetani was the beta name for Vitani, so I used some miscolored versions from books of her for this lioness; the only actual piece of concept art is the one with the fire. If I was to use her with this design she would probably have to be Vitani's twin sister, or I could just use the name for an oldgen outsider (more likely).

- Aisha was one of the beta names for Kiara, while Timira (or Kirijah) was supposed to be Chaka's (Kiara's scrapped brother) bethroted. The concept art I used is of Kiara running away from the fire, so this was probably Aisha; while the other art is from the PC game and is a random cub. I already have a character named Aisha and this design could fit for her, but I'm not sure. I definetly want to use Timira for something (I lumped her in with the same concept art cuz I've always seen her drawn with a dark coat, so I associate her name with it).

- Shani was yet another beta name for Kiara, so here I took some concept art of the rhino chase (I needed it for Nunka), and used it do wip up this design. Real talk, I do not care for it, I already have a Shani and this would just be a Kiara clone with slightly tweaked colors. The other clips are from The PC game and I used them to tweak the colors a little, I did two versions of her cuz I couldn't decide the color distribution. "Shari" is a mispelling of Shani that was found in a magazine talking about the SP writing process, if I was to use a tweaked version of this design in any way I'd probably name her that.

- Nunka was the beta version of Kovu/Nuka, he was supposed to be Scar's son, but as everyone knows they changed it because he would be Kiara's cousin. Since he was split off into two characters here for his design I did a few things: used his only concept art, mixed in Nuka's and Kovu's features, and used some off-model Nuka drawings from various books as inspiration. Initially I only used the miscolored palette from the Nuka drawings to color him (with green eyes), but since he looked nothing like the conept art I also made an alt that stuck more closely to the concept art. I really like this design but I have absolutely no idea of where I would even put him, he would definetly have to be a nextgen or something.

- The last one has nothing to do with scrapped/beta characters, she's a background lioness that appears at the ending ceremony in TLK2. I was looking for a completely different character/specific screenshot (I didn't find it), but I saw this one lioness that had weirdly colored toes and eye rims, so I just had to try and draw her. If I decided to use her she would probably related to Vumbi in some way.

So yeah, more ramblings I did to get my art jucies flowing... taking research and breaks/me getting distracted into account, they just took up all my day instead.
