really excellent stuff Greg... there's so few people really coming up with such consistently fine and innovative use of colour , line and form.. big

thank you kindly adam. ive always been somewhat obsessed with lines, and luckily i had a really great colour and design professor in school. She is the one that really laid the foundation of helping to develop my eye.

its a strange process of building images out of pieces of other images.

Lovely image. The textures are very strong. I like the "heat" this coming off the bottom red...it's like it's simmering or pulsating with some firey energy. I like the touch of cyan, too...it serves to cool off the image so that the warmth is not too intense.
Well done.

its funny that you use the word 'heat' and 'firey' to describe the bottom red. That started out as a close up photograph of a red Emergency fired alarm on a telephone pole. i was attracted to the red and some of the rusty bits that were showing through.
As much as i try to stay away from using a lot of reds and oranges, i just cant help myself.. im drawn to those colours.

I've noticed that. It works though. You seem to have a knack for controlling those colors.

i sometimes on worry that i rely too heavily on them.. hmm image doesnt seem to be coming together.. lets slap in some reds and oranges that'll do the trick. lol.
I guess I have to apply my art as a language theory even to my colour choices-- they are part of the lexicon.
