Description
the title of this image stems from a conversation I was having with a friend. The phrase just sort of stuck in my brain and I thought I would try and build an image around it.everytime you click fullview a deviant gets his wings

The guy with the moustache is just too funny. I also like the overall composition particularly, the tape stripes and the three thin lines.

You know...the guys head looks very similiar to Freddie Mercury. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw it.
I like the analogy of laundry...it gives it more of a sense of cycles.

yes he is a little freddy mercuryish. Ill admit that the laundry images were an obvious choice to help illustrate the point, but sometimes the obvious choice is the best.

I really like this, as well as your other collages. They seem very surreal and vintage, two excellent qualities.

thank you very much. It doesnt hurt that i use a lot of vintage things in the creation of my collages. They are all done digitally, but I try to make them feel as organic as possible.
the fave is most appreciated.

everyone has already said all of the pretty things that i wnated to say. those bastards.
anyways, i lvoe this very much. the shoulder/head bit is very subtle and done very well. almost didn't catch it.
the little buggers at the bottom are wonderfully creepy too.
lovely, as always.

thanks zero-- nice to hear from you
don't you hate it when people already say the things that you wanted to say and you are left trying to find something new and interesting to say, but can't really.
(i like putting in subtle things like that from time to time to see if people are really looking.. hehehe)

it's an important and oft overlooked step, hopefully from now on you won't forget.
(you know the head went on the little girl in number 2 only because i didnt like the way she looked) (how is that for high art)

shank, I think pointy metal object- I hope (I'm sure) that was what you were hinting at, I just really like how that plays with the title. Did you find those words? Threaded shank? What is that really?
That shoulder and disapearing head really surprised me! I love that.

gregoriousone In reply to Arisashi [2005-12-14 18:03:15 +0000 UTC]
yes I did find those words-- most of the words and phrases that you see in my illustrations are found just they way you see them- i just like to take them out of their original context. The 'threaded shank' came from a set of instructions on fixing the guts of one's toilet.
