Description I've been meaning to draw this character from Les Miserables for ages, ever since seeing the musical and reading the book (they're both fantastic!) I think Javert's one of those characters that isn't truely a villain, he's just misguided and very rigid and uncompromising. I love his songs in the musical, and my fave portrals of him are by Philip Quast and Michael McCarthy (how original, I know, but they're fab! ) *wanders off to watch the 10th Anniversary dvd again*

Yay! Javert is my favourite character, I really understand his motivations and I feel for him, hmmm I think he also sings one of the best songs - Stars. I just love that song!

Very good piccy!

lol Guess who's going to a concert on Sunday which includes John Owen-Jones and Michael McCarthy? *grin*

greyflea In reply to enchantedviolin [2004-07-31 11:28:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I think he's the best too, and made me laugh in the books (in a horrible way!)

Omigod, you're joking! I heard about that - it's in Kent or somewhere, isn't it? Hehe, and Michael Ball will be there too, so be prepared to bash all the middle-aged women out the way. That'll be brilliant - tell me how it goes! Tis a shame no-one has a recording device for it.....

enchantedviolin In reply to greyflea [2004-07-31 13:17:44 +0000 UTC]

oooh you bad girl! lol I am not in the business of bootlegging but I am sure at least one person will make one, I mean common - Michael Ball, John Owen-Jones, Michael McCarthy as well some pretty females! There has to be at least one mad fan there who lives to smuggle in recording devices to make their 'friends' jealous and then charge £50 a copy! lol

greyflea In reply to enchantedviolin [2004-08-01 09:47:00 +0000 UTC]

*Laughs* Well I don't actually make them myself either, but know people that do. I'd feel guilty making them! Hmmm yeah, the more I think about it, someone's *bound* to do one, though it seems it's mostly Americans that do the bootlegs compared to us 'reserved' Brits, ahem. (hope some Americans are there! )

the shading and detail on his face and hands are marvelous. His glare reminds me of one of the servers I ran into in Napa valley.

Thee server was an arrogant git. Not intimidating like Javert. I just remember he had a stern, constipated look on his face..

Hehehe, really? I wouldn't liked to have looked him in the eye! He might have been having problems that day. ;D Maybe that was just his normal expression! Thanks very much; I love drawing people's eyes.
