Description
Blackback the Troll merchant a-cometh, probably on the way of finding a new market.A fun little study made for a Father's day card.
Made in MyPaint + GIMP. Wanted it to look a bit water-colour-y so played with Deevad's v6 brushset.

certainly like the fog effect. The troll comes across as some sort of friendly Werewolf. Maybe, just maybe, the highlights are a bit overexposed. Nice work, Mr. 100k!

Blackback is an old roleplaying character of mine, he's really quite a nice guy. Could you elaborate a bit on where you think there are highlights, and overexposed such? You mean the background light where it sifts past him?

I mean the reflections on his belt and white line on his hat. It seems as if the sun is out according to those reflections, but the rest of the image portraits a rather cloudy day.

Thanks for elaborating!
Hm, you could be right. To be honest I don't really consider those highlights as much as just outlines separating foreground from background... but if so, they are indeed suggesting a direction of light which should be, as you say, nonexistent on a cloudy day. I have modified the lighting a bit on the hat and belt buckle, take a look, hopefully a little better now.

and this is why i admire you so much! You take criticism into account, appreciate it and most importantly consider it even if the source may not appear to be as knowledgable on the topic

Your fog effect works really nicely. Good shades of brown

Thanks, this is a fun little thing for a card, but I like how the fog came out.

I'm definitely weird, i like the wagon the most This picture also reminded me of a colleague, she says her car has "automatic hole finder". Well, there is a bump on the road, not a hole, but well

I like the wagon too. As for the bump, I guess the important part is that the wheels of the cart pass on either side of the bump, which considering the vertical clearing of that cart shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, sorry. I was not implying that the wagon will hit the bump. The "hole finder" was just something similar i was reminded of.
