Im pretty sure you have heard/Seen this norwegian girl who claims shes a cat video by now, if not then let me tell you shortly.Norwegian girl claims to be a real cat, that got cat genes at birth, claims to see better in the dark and hear better even hunting mice in the night, communicate by meowing, crawling like a human I mean cat, and she doesnt like water and dogs which is obviously the most stereotypical version you can get of a cat.
Being a cat owner myself there is also tons of other things a cat wouldnt do that shes doing in this video but thats my point of view xD
BEFORE YOU GET THE WRONG IDEA I dont care if she believes shes a cat, thats completely fine, shes not hurting anyone and she can believe she is anything she wants
BUT
Dont use science to explain what you are when you dont know the basics of it. GENES cant suddenly make you into something else. What you feel like and what you are can be two completely different things, but your genes is not something you can wish to be something its not xD AM I THE ONLY ONE who is bothered by that??? A lot of people freak out at people who believe they are something else than a human, but that doesnt bother me, but You cant make up your own definiton of something that is defined because you feel like it, it just makes you look really friggin dumb . And btw cat people, a meow isnt just a meow there are so many different types of meows and what they mean.
Same with the damn crawl, cats dont crawl on their knees. if your magically got cat genes, you would atleast walk like a cat how they walk. Your just doing the basic human crawl, not a cat crawl.
As a cat owner and owner of many past cats she did not convince me a all. Be a cat! be a sofa, but dont justify it with science you dont understand.
A horse would be a cat before a human would since they share a closer ancestor. Not that their ancestor looked anything like a horse or a cat. But you get the gist

But what if her family is all descendants of cats that have evolved to look like humans and she's a slight throwback? Would you accept that explanation or are you one of those people who only believes in humans and everyone is a human and there is nothing else to be but a human? Asks the elf.

Just looking at their anatomy it wouldn't make sense if a cat evolved into looking like a human, so far no cat like animal walks on two legs, or need their brain to survive like we do. They are pretty efficient already in their line of how to do things xD I cant see any scenario either that would force a cat to evolve long fingers again, two legged posture etc. So first you would have to represent me some scenarios like that for it to even be considered plausible.

xD CATS will never be humans There is no logic in a cat being hunted for hundreds of millions of years would turn into a human like creature. There is no mammal that I know of that looks like another mammal to avoid being hunted, I would like you to give me that example.
Aposematism Is used by a lot of nonmammals like reptiles, fish and invertebrates which however is a completely different family, and have a completely different visual spectrum and survival teqniques than what mammals might have. Besides mammals usually have evolved coats that hides them or confuses their predators than signal im poisenous. so yes please try to educate me when you dont know the basics of how the apperance actually woks. xD

It's not the fact that she feels as if she's a cat that's the problem, nor is it was Griffsnuff is trying to say is a problem here. It's the fact that she's trying to use science to claim that she physically is a cat. You can identify with whatever you want or feel as if you were born in the body of the wrong species, but you cant use something that has proven your point incorrect multiple times as evidence for this situation. Feeling as if you were a cat in a previous life ( or any other animal/creature for that matter )and/or that you should be a cat rather than in the body of a human is one thing, but trying to scientifically claim you are currently physically a cat ( as Nano is doing in the video at least ) is a completely different story.

Scientifically, you cannot prove she is a cat. But that should not mean that she's not a cat. She IS a cat.
I am an elf, my brother is a werewolf and my best friend is one of the oldest reptiles on earth. Scientifically, that is impossible but we are.

If she feels as if she is a cat, that's fine and the same thing goes with any other person with any creature they chose to identify with. The whole reason for this picture is simply to bring up a personal gripe that the artist had over Nano claiming she had the gene pool/genetics of a cat, something that shouldn't be possible ( unless she were to exactly show proof of the abnormality that her doctor found or any sort of samples that show otherwise). No one, aside from those who disagree with otherkin is trying to say she can't feel as if she's a cat or has a cat side to her. It's kind of hard to explain the message without making it seem like everyone disagrees with her feeling like a cat, but it isn't the case. It's just, the genetics that make a cat a cat are very different from what forms a human into a human.

You can prove she isnt a cat by taking a bloodsample, you can prove she isnt a cat by looking at her organs. Even a blind person could tell the difference between a cat and a human. How do you think people identify animals? How do you think people who have it as a job to go looking for new species/follow up on already existing species? Do you really think they sit down and ask them if they are a Turdus pilaris, feel like they are a fish o when they are a horse? Were did you go to school?? How do you even find this logical.
Science is here to give us the reason to why something is the way it is, it explains why something is, and why something is not, its the human way of making sense of the world around it, if your angry it doesnt work with your belief, thats not sciences fault. Gays and transgender isnt a different species, loving someone of the same gender and feeling more feminine or masculine is both human things. How a boy and how a girl looks/acts are standards we make of them ourselves so feeling out of those standards is not wrong in anyway. What we like is also subjective to each their own, what we find attractive is also subjective to each their own. So you cannot compare a 100% human thing with a nonhuman thing. I personally dont see a reason in seperating genders at all, because its just dividing us when we are all a mix of all the things in the end.
