If you want a more detailed pixel icon, you just make is 100x100 and then resize it to 50x50. It still works, and it works well!

This is really helpful for those who don't have Photoshop. Also, you could go to view and select thumbnail so you could be zoomed in and have a small window with a %100 view as well as the canvas which is %800.

MS paint doesn't work on my computer because i have Win8

xD did you save it after? like dragging it onto your desktop? because Iazas background is also white so it wont look transparant before dragging it to your computer
