A co-designed creature concept done with Ausp-ice ! The design is for the antagonistic creatures in the roleplay we have going. They took these sketches and refined them into much more polished reference sheets, and you should definitely take a look because they look very pretty.

This is the most closely collaborative design I've done with someone, and I had a lot of fun with it. It was really fun to build up off of their ideas, and I feel like the back and forth helped us refine ideas and capitalize on our strengths to make an end result that's pretty neat!

As far as the process goes, I did the initial brainstorming . Then Ausp-ice picked the designs that seemed promising to them, and made a few href="sta.sh/01w1gpfn8gid ">design changes and outfit concepts to make things more visually appealing! Their initial design for the quadrupedal creatures hit the mark right off the bat, so they refined their sketch of those into a finished reference straight from there.

For the bipeds, I took their tweaked designs and did an initial version of the sketches you see here, including the basic color design. Then we spent quite a while passing ideas back and forth, continuing to tweak and refine things until we had something we were satisfied with! Once we were happy with how these sketches looked, Ausp-ice took the files and polished things up into the finished reference sheets.

Time spent actively drawing and tweaking these sketches added up to 4.5 hours in Procreate on my end of things! Plus a good amount of time spent passing ideas back and forth. It took an evening or two, heh.
