May I ask how you did this? Is it a plugin of some sort?
I know how to extrude, and randomize the effect, but I have no idea how you got all of those tiny "air conditioners" on the "roofs".

All the block "house" are real, my plane measure 50 meters by 50 meters... I've an I7 processor but my scene my scene was about to crash all the time ^^

I work with 3ds max and Vray rendering engine.
All the blocks are made from a plugin Greeble "I advise you to have excellent configuration of your PC because Greeble uses lots of power.
For the light I just use a Vray "Vraylight" I've increased the brightness and color tinted red.
