I figure if there was ever a pic that absolutely requires an explanation, it's this one.
Basically a tribute to the fine works of both and , two very awesome writers whose past Animaniacs fics feature the pairing of Rita/Runt and the potential pairing of Buttons/Minerva Mink, respectively.
The latter, "Slice of Life," which can be found on this very site [link] , is a unique departure from all the A! fanworks out there that pair Minerva with Wilford Wolf, Newt, or a grownup Yakko, and I liked the idea enough to want to draw it. Meanwhile, I've already drawn Rita and Runt together a few times, so this was a good opportunity to draw them all and pay tribute to both authors in a single pic.^^(Plus putting Runt and Buttons in the same pic reminds me of their very brief but very awesome team-up in "Wakko's Wish"
)Needless to say, both cases are examples of the "characters are actors" style of writing for cartoon stars (after all, I doubt that either Runt being stupid or Minerva being a shallow vamp would be compatible with this kind of scenario
), and I thought it would be nice to showcase how they are off-screen...not to mention how both couples handle the height differences between them.

It's cute and still makes me laugh at the same time (in a good way, mind you)
forever jealous of your consistent shading ability and your coloring style. one of these days you gotta show me how to do that.

drawing a character on tip toes must've been a real task, bro.
if i could do that, i'd totally draw some Muy Thai boxing. XDDD
the act of drawing poses for kissing is hard enough (another reason i've never drawn that) let alone having RUnt have to physically lift Rita to do so.
particularly impressed with Runt's proportions. he looks hefty without being chunky. XD not an easy task, especially from a profile perspective.
Button's log muzzle wouldn't be an easy contrast to Minerva's soft one for a kiss, once again masterfully handled by you it's so easy to just take those subtle details for granted, but so very difficult to pull off behind the scenes. in essence it takes a lot of practice and skill to make anything seem easy. just ask Chris Webber (yeah, we're taking it back XDDD)
you even remembered to have Rita's feet dangling slightly. very impressive. if i'd done that and remembered every other detail i'd probably have forgotten that one.
i guess that's why you're Gui. love how our styles contrast so very much and yet seem to work in unison at the same time.
