Description As Marge and her friends made their way through the secret labs of the evil Dr. Steinfisch, they came across a shocking discovery - Marge had been copied into a fully-functioning robot. As Marge studied the head, it suddenly came to life and began speaking. "You could have at least wiped your shoes off before coming in here..."

I got this idea the other night in a chat with my buddy kiff57krocker.deviantart.com/ and immediately sent him a doodle. We then got into a discussion as to what this mysterious evil figure looked like. I surmised that he was half human, half fish after a terribly botched accident. My friend came up with his own backstory about him being on the mend after crashing in a Russian helicopter. At any rate, he's not a good character. Now he's determined to replace the world with his own robots - and he's starting his plan in Springfield. Marge is left with one brilliant plan - remove the machine's evil chip...but how?

Marge is the property of Matt Groening. Dr. Steinfisch is my own character.

I love drawing these things...drawing the wires and little gidgets coming out of them.

Ah, the old robot head removal joke. I dunno if you've ever heard of a show called Red Dwarf, but there was a mech in it called Kryten, who used to have things like this happen semi regularly, to the point where he had a broom cupboard with spare heads.

Nice wagging finger on robot Marge.

Faved.

OMG do I know Red Dwarf. I'm still laughing all these years later about the time that the guys removed Kryten's "inhibition chip." The guys then spotted him smoking a cigarette and asked him about it; his reply was, "Just call me Mr. Badass..." When they opened his head up to get the chip, they opened it up like a car bonnet, complete with a little metal stick to keep it open.

Any show with a Scouse as a main character is okay in my book.

Yeah, sounds familar, wasn't the whole thing a send up of Data and Lore with the Emotion chip in TNG?

Yeah, the car bonnet prop gag was most amusing as well.

The other thing that got me rolling was the T-rex episode, where they gave it a cow curry to loosen its bowels and eject their time machine.

Only the Red Dwarf crew could be millions of years into deep space and yet somehow end up with a Tyrannosaurus running around the ship.

I'm thinking more of "The Blob" (the early Steve McQueen one).

Wow...that goes back a ways. But they did try to re-make it.

I see your doodle that you emailed me has now, "come to life," excuse the pun, in a finished artwork.  Marge's terrorized astonishment is quite palpable as the robo-Marge head talks to her.  Of course, Marge will remove the android's "evil" chip and reprogram the Marge-android into a kind of domestic servant, yes?  Nice use of digital coloring here.  Well done.

Thanks! I've always liked those sweat doodles flying in the air as the person gets nervous.

Yes, those little sweat drops flying around the head are a great way to convey either nervousness or fright in a character along with the facial expression.
