Hi there, Guyverman here with my first Godzilla-related piece in a long time. I have wanted to do my own equivalent of Matt Frank’s Godzilla Neo project for many years and it gets a lot off my chest to finally get started on it. What you see is hopefully the first in a long line of Toho Studios character redesigns courtesy of me. I have christened such a series the Toho Ascension Project.

This re-imagining of mine follows the popular modern trend of giving Godzilla a Synapsid-based origin, for those of you who don’t know are the quasi-reptilian precursors to modern-day mammals. I’ve always felt that doing such gives a good biological underpinning to the character’s traditional mammalian traits.
