From the research I went and did it looks to me that Registeel may very well be outmatched against GuardiAngemon. Given GuardiAngemon's own background he is a high ranking celestial being whose soul purpose is battle. Registeel has proven to be very sturdy and his body nigh unscratchable but the media he was in suggests he is susceptible to faster opponents much like Hitmochan in the manga. The angels of the digital world have no lack in power and this particular specie has speed to boot.

I'm also willing to bet GuardiAngemon has a higher way of thinking compared to his opponent. All in all I think Registeel lacks the speed and intellect required to beat this digimon thus my guess as to the victor would be GuardiAngemon.

Lol fair enough. I was just thinking of another DvP that I thought was an interesting match up. The battle of the mascots! Pikachu vs Agumon. I'm not really requesting this but I thought something like this would be interesting. Who do you think would win H?

On a personal point of view I'd want Agumon to win. On a critical point of view, I'd say Pikachu would win. Not only does that little mouse have speed that outmatches even its evolution but that little fella can produce thunder and lightning at will, If agumon could score a few hits with his powerful claws there would be a chance, but then there's that static ability, oh the static.

I agree with you. Everything you mentioned is on point. Agumon would be severely outmatched. To be honest I think that Pikachu could beat Greymon to if it can avoid a direct hit. His speed and power is incredible and it's also smart and able to think for itself in the heat of battle. The only evolution that has speed in Agumon's line is WarGreymon. Everything else is tank based. Power and Defense. Though one Thunder from Pikachu on Greymon's horns and I'm rewatching Cinnabar Island with Rhydon vs. Pikachu lol.

I wouldn't rely on the start of the anime as a source of info as electric attacks work on ground types on random episodes due to inconsistent writing. I believe greymon may outmatch pikachu in many ways including speed. A lot of people tend to underestimate the digimon for his size but he is shown to be not only fast but very accurate in battle, his 'Grey antler' has shown to give a major speed boost whenever it uses the attack. He also is shown to be quite durable in battle, like his fight with parrotmon, thunder maybe effective but greymon can likely handle it.

Well, from what I deprived from the manga and such Greymon can come in different varieties. In Digimon Next it was pointed out that Greymon are usually grown to be durable power houses but some can be be considerably smaller which gives them a huge boost in their speed without reducing it's power. So, I suppose it would depend on the type of Greymon. As for the episode I mentioned it seems logical that the lightning rod strategy would work. Then again you have a point in Pikachu even using Thunder might not be strong enough to effect Greymon all that much. The Greymon that fought Parrotmon for the longest was thought to be a different specie of Greymon all together given his mass and different style of Mega Flame. Back in the day the movie's Agumon and Greymon were documented as BigAgumon and RedGreymon. Though that information seems to have been retracted and all but disappeared. I can't find such documents anymore. Guess no one was able to ascertain it as truth. Aw well.

The creators sorta confirmed it was the same species, if you recall an episode in adventures that shows the kids re-witnessing the events. That greymon was reverted into the same one that looked like it in the anime. From what I heard they re-released that greymon as 'Movie Greymon' as shown in a card. 2.bp.blogspot.com/-G9ak0D7QCZM…

That's some great information! I didn't know that. That design is probably my favorite of the Greymon's. I figured the makers would eventually make it into it's own Greymon. It was waaaaaay different from any Greymon in the medias. It killed itself along with Parrotmon and never appeared again. So sad.
