He's ugly, he's mean, he's a spy, he's a potion teacher, he's a wizard, he's... AMAZING!!!
Please, let me know what you think of his hands so I may improve them... they are quite far from perfect and I know it, so I'll calmly wait for constructive comments

This is really well done!
The only thing I could suggest with the hands, is that perhaps your proportions of the fingers aren't quite right.
Even with the way Snape is steepling his fingers and the angle he's holding his hands, the length of the fingers
appear incorrect; the middle finger should be longer than the index, then the ring fingers should be longer than
the pinkie fingers.

I guess that is a point too; for non-drawing observers, they could see things
that drawers would dismiss. But I am glad to have helped.
But you have a point- we see hands every day, and while everyone's hands are
different, with differing lengths of fingers, the portions are usually the same
with the middle finger being the longest, and the others scaling after that

well ... maybe not so much the yellow teeth ... and his skin isn't oily it's sallow, which means he more than likely doesn't eat properly .... but yes I like his large hooked nose and his shoulder length hair despite it being greasy ...

I think the fingers are a little too straight, even when we put them like that, they still have curves and bumps in them. But apart from that, it's a great piece of work, well done.

They're way better hands than I could do, certain enough.
They do look a bit... I dunno, odd, somehow, now I'm staring at them... Maybe they're too smooth or something... Or maybe anything will look weird if you stare at it looking for flaws for too long... XD

That reminds me of a quote from a book where a knight compliments this girl squire for just having speared a difficult target circle with her lance, and she says of herself and her horse,

But no jokes, if you draw often you'll improve at a rate you can't even imagine!! I've been doing +/- a drawing/sketch/line art/digital painting a day and I improved like crazy!!! I mean, even I am speechless...
Never drop you pen saying you can't do it! You'll learn, some things take more time to learn, that's all. For a while ears and hands were my "black beast" I was TOTALY unable to draw them... As a result, all my characters had long hair and/or gloved hands/mittens or their hands in their pockets or behind their back
It was so until a teacher told me not to let the drawing control you. You're holding the pen therefore you decide what's to be drawn and you must work until it's as you wish it. Stop being lazy. And so I stopped...
The so called "talent" do not exist! It's simply huge interest and as much practice

I do try to face my artistic fears, and I am improving as fast as I draw...
I am much better at hands than I used to be, though it took much screaming, headesking, and taking pictures of my hands to get there, lol.
I would say that there are naturals, actually- but there is no height a non-natural cannot attain, with a little more elbow-grease and care.
And if naturals don't put their hours in, they're still not going anywhere.
And now that I've finished National Novel Writing Month, I can return my energies to drawing! Yay!
