Description
This is the tutorial for the pattern that if you look for you won't find since the original artist's account has been deactivated and essentially every thing has gone off of DA now. So enjoy the tutorial for the free pattern! It's not mine and it's not yours so you can't sell it! (The pattern that is)
So just be a good sport and direct the person wanting the pattern this way!

You can't sell the pattern, or you can't sell what's made FROM the pattern?

you can't SELL the patternΒ as your own. Using the pattern and selling the end product is perfectly fine.

(late response sorry) I suggest doing a bit of hand stitching and a lot of pins. Attach to the neck of the body after stitching the nose/face front and when the back is left open.Β Or (as later learned from lots of practice with bigger plushies.) latter stitch, simple to do and I suggest done twice around to make sure it stays. practice makes perfect. ^u^

Lasso stitch or latter stitch (a simple will do for the most part). Attach horn when plushie is finished while figuring out mane placement.

Can this be sewn with a machine? (just asking 'coz if yes I'll get my grandma to make me a Pinkie Pie one )

you can, just have to go slow and not over stitch. It's what tis done in the tutorial,Β I just prefer to hand sew.

I wish I could do this the right way... the only things wrong with my plushie I made is that it's legs spread out, and it looks like it has an adam's apple. It's been a year, and I haven't even finished the mane.

haiban In reply to OwOminiaturemiriam [2013-05-29 02:00:19 +0000 UTC]
mine do that a lot to, it's how you stuff them I think and how the stretch is, vertical stretch for the body & long ways for the belly. (I prefer fabrics with 2 way stretch if I can or none at all) the adam's apple is probably from not snipping the marker and instead sewing it in, just a guess, I use an overcast stitch so it's what I do unless it's not much of a notch.
And you don't have to sew the mane into the head. Simple stitching works just as well. it just depends on the mane really. and there is no wrong way so long as it is what you intended. how I make my plushies has most of the stitches showing. The only true rule of any sewer is 'Don't. Use. Metallic. Thread.'... well that and don't use permanent marker or anything that bleeds onto fabric, especially bad markers (washable markers are cheap and work wonders!)
umm... sorry for rambling ^u^; I'd love to see it finished! is what I'm trying to say, beside you can always make it a scarf. And a plushie is never perfect the first time around, it's a learning experience.

I sew by hand but if you pla on making a larger pony then a sewing machine works too.

Hey! I'm almost finished making this plushie, my only obstacle so far is the nose. The instructions are kinda cryptic, so I'm just wondering... how do I place it and sew it?
π: 0 β©: 1
haiban In reply to DooplissShinigami [2012-07-22 16:30:31 +0000 UTC]
first, stitch the flag of the forhead. second (having the stitch side down for the face) you place marking side up of the muzzel, the face seam alines with the notch of the muzzel. pin the ends of the muzzel where they should be and keep pinning. it will curve. stitch it and continue as shown (this is where I simplified it a bit)

one question, if i want to add wings do i cut out 4 of the shapes? (2 per wing) and how do i atatch them?
π: 0 β©: 1
haiban In reply to mischakins [2012-06-19 18:59:59 +0000 UTC]
well depends. Are you doing a big or small pony and or depending on the fabric you're using, would it be a better idea to stuff the wings so they don't just lay flat? how I attach them to my pony is to stitch them where I see best fit. and I only attatch them each at ones spot for my littler ponies. It allows for them to move and bend as they like freely. I use felt so yours may differ

yeah the feet are fine but the under belly bit is the wrong way ;a; the edge that's meant to be INSIDE is outside

mischakins In reply to haiban [2012-06-20 21:29:52 +0000 UTC]
oh! one more question. what kind of stitch do you use? and do you use a machiene or hand-stitch?
π: 0 β©: 2
haiban In reply to mischakins [2012-06-21 01:28:28 +0000 UTC]
and besides the really big ponies I've done it's all hand stitched. and always make sure there is plenty of room between where you so and the edge of the fabric so that it either doesn't shred and or come apart.
π: 0 β©: 0
haiban In reply to mischakins [2012-06-21 01:25:29 +0000 UTC]
that's 2 questions (lol!) I just do a usual stich that I don't know the name of but asentually if it was flat looks like > -//////- it works for keeping tight seams and pulls the fabric together but if you'd want it so that the fabric doesn't bunch, research the blanket stitch it looks like this> -TTTT- the too of the 'T' stays along the seam and it's great for edging. it's what I used on the ears of my Pincushion pony so they stay flat and keep their form.
