Ski trail outside of my school. Yah, I know, I never do photography - my sister does. But this is an exception. BTW, that's her in the corner. She skis and I don't.Related content

Thanks (and for the fav) . Indeed...I never realize how huge the trees are here in AK until I look at this photo, lol.

We get pretty big trees here in Alabama. But I have to travel a bit to see them. And we don't get any snow. -cries-

OMG, Alabama??? I've never been there. You should be partially happy that you don't get snow. We get 6 months of winter. Cold, depressing, dark winter.

I love it here, most of the time. I've never been to... -already forgot where you are from-. Heh... Short memory FTW.
I love the snow though, because it is such a rarity here. I can understand not liking it after six months of always having snow.

ALASKA. There memory refreshed. Yah, I've lived here my entire life, so it's nice to go to places in the south for vacation in the summer. Even though it is very nice here in the summer.

You should if you ever get the chance, but don't make the mistake of going on a glacier cruise or something like that. They're really not that great.

SO I have heard. You should really come South sometime... Though the humidity might kill you.

Yah...I went to Disneyworld in the summer...and I don't think I've ever experienced anything more painful than walking around in uncomfortable shoes for the entire day in a massive crowd with 90% humidity and the sun beating down 100 toasty and unforgiveing degrees upon our tourist heads. Although, aside from that, it was fun.
It is really fun though to be resistant to cold. None of my relatives live here, so whenever I call them in the winter and they complain about how cold it is I reply, "Really? HOW cold??" Usually AK wins.

Oh, I know that horrible feeling. The temperature isn't what bothers me, because that's how our Summer always is. It's the crowds at Disney and any major city around us(not that many). I went to Disney when I was eight... I never want to go back again.
On average, how cold is it there?

Yah, whenever I go to California, even though it's super hot, I actually enjoy it. It's the humidity that kills.
On average? *prepares to discuss Alaskan weather* We have six months of winter, usually from October to April, and during that time it's on average 20-30 degrees. Of course, in the worst part of winter, December-February, it can get in the single digits and even lower sometimes. Last year we had a cold snap in January and it was regularly -25 degrees outside. Whenever I'd walk 50 yards to get from the pool to my mom's car, my hair would freeze.
Anyway...then in the summer, on the other hand, everything is nice and green and sunshiny most of the time. In June/July it can get up to 86 degrees (that's our record ) but normally it averages around 60. Despite how pleasant the summer is, it doesn't last long.

Oh, it's possible...if it's wet, and the temperature is below 0, then it just just does rigid because the water in it freezes.

The day that someone dies of heat stroke in AK is the day that someone gets frostbite in Alabama.
OMG, I think your obsession with is rubbing off on me.

Unfortunately, that sounds about right.
Actually, we have a great family story about my brother getting frostbite before I was born. (On a sidenote. Isn't it great that everytime it snows here, we have to name it something special? like... THE GREAT BLIZZARD OF '94!!! )
Yay obsessions!
