Nice! Too bad I had problems with Gnome 3 / Gnome Shell. Just a quick question, is there a difference between Gnome 3 and Gnome Shell, or they are the same.

GNOME Shell is the desktop shell, GNOME 3 is the libraries and apps.

Ok thanks for clarifying. Is there a reliable guide on how to make it work on Mint 10 x64 bit?

Not no idea to be honest. You could give Fedora 15 a try.

Nah, I stick to the rule "if it ain't broken don't fix it, or, don't break it if you don't know how to fix it" >.> A dist upgrade might not work with my hardware, which was a pain for me to make it work, also time-consuming, that's why I asked for a reliable guide, but tnks.

You should definitely talk the Elementary guys to use GNOME-Shell in the eOS.

They're making their own desktop environment, called pantheon.

I know, I've spent the last 3 days trying to beat it to a usable form but then it ruined the whole system.
I think there is just too many desktop environments now.

Well, the Shell itself is completely against their philosophy but once it becomes less buggy it'll IMHO be very popular even among the eOS community.
