Following my Optimus concept painting found here , I thought I should at least compliment him with a Megatron redesign sketch eventually. (Compare the Optimus Painting with the sketch found here to see how things can improve from sketch to painting given time and effort).

You'll notice I'd have gone with a G2 inspired Megatron (hence the G2 symbol on his helmet, which I thought would be a nifty place to place the symbol. Could place it on the shoulder as well, but meh. There were no original markings there to replace). He'll have a G1/G2ish colourscheme, arctic camo colours of white, grey, black and perhaps a little bit of brown.

What exactly is he supposed to be? Well, the Russian T-90 main battle tank. Russian? Yes, Russian. You'll remember there's plenty of oil to fight over in the desolate areas of Siberia. Next to there being plenty of Russian military bases with equipment that could be used by the cons (think of the Sukhoi Super Flanker and Mig-29s for some seekers, for example). In other words, plenty of story potential.

Plus Russians always do evil stuff in movies and all that, so the link is easily laid.

Anyway, I wanted to remind of the G2 Hero Megatron release that had the number TRF-2 and hint at this being an upgrade, but forgot TRF-3 is actually the Autobot Electro... That'll need to change in the final image. Might increase the pectoral section a bit as well.

Oh and it'll be a while before this gets fully painted like its predecessor. >_>

Just for the record, this is not meant to fit in a Bay type Movie, but in a would-be-alternate-more-traditional-TF-movie. Like the Optimus pic, I've got a general idea where everything comes from and goes, though it does need far more work to get it to function as it should. Again just an experiment in possible, slightly original configurations and all that.
