I've recently rediscovered the beauty of using markers. My teachers at school pretty much damn their very existence; my illustration teacher forbade us from using them in our assignments. Ridiculous, right?About the image itself...durr. I can't possible be the only one who thought Rumpelstiltskin was a tad flamboyant (and by "tad" I mean "very", hurr hurr hurr).
When I was in New Mexico visiting family, I had a lot of time to waste, so I cooked up a little story about the events transpiring after Shrek 4. The guy on the right is an original character. He doesn't officially have a name yet, but I was considering "Einar".
God, I need to get a life.

I thought he was flamboyant too!! Throughout the whole movie my friend & I kept giggling cuz I told her I thought he was a little too girly to be straight! I love him so much but I think that the whole "flamboyant" thing could stop all of us fangirls from romantically loving him.... I talk too much. I love the pic.

I understand why a lot of teachers don't like markers, which is because most people do a really awful streaky job of it. You are not one of those people. This looks like watercolor or airbrush or something.
I also love markers, but my main problem with them is being stuck with a limited color pallete unless you buy more, lol.

yeah, Barb and my 2d teacher forbade me from using markers as well. But, I have learned to use colored ink instead, so I guess it worked out all right. Sometimes if you don't tell them it's marker they wont say anything, especially since yours always turn out so well!

Wut. Oh, so basically he was one of those really anal professors that never want to try anything new because they weren't taught that way or something? Oh god, I've seen this too. Lol, whoops, I sound so mean. I'm not really in the industry but I don't think they actually care if you use markers or not. 
What do they have you use instead of markers? Paint? OLDSCHOOLING IT?
