Yes they are, and sometimes they bring the little babies along, the female is very plain looking!

Yes, I have always found it amusing that humans are the only species where the female gender is so colorful in how we present ourselves. In nature the plain look is probably what keeps the female alive so that the species can continue. I was raised on a farm and I always loved how colorful the quail and pheasants are. My pleasure.
