FULL VIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Well, the last one is done (a bit rushed with the move looming so close). This one was a lot fun mostly because of the detail that ou can't see very well at this size. I used a heavy paper and let the natural tooth of it dictate the masks detail to a large degree which ended up with super random stipple effect. I went over and over darkening or lightening the small divots until I nearly went mad. I may throw up a detail....
Anyway, the four guys are finished and I personally see a big difference in them as I got more stressed with everything here. Art is always influenced by emotion being created by people so when the shit hits the fan and teeth are starting to get ground down the art shows a lot of it. I would have polished Jason and Michael up a lot more if I was a bit more mellow but I like the feel of them this way too, I think the quick strokes and such lend well to the subject. Before I get too philosophical, I want to thank for the textures I used when I polished him up in photoshop. Take care everyone and I'll be in touch when my internet is turned on in Colorado. My PC will packed next Thursday and I'm driving out on the following Thursday. I'll be on chatting it up for a bit longer but I don't think I'll be posting until things are unpacked and settled after the move.

i really like the textures! the only weird thing is that you've sort of smoothed out the textures to look paper-y (which is cool as hell) but then left the deep "cuts" along some areas... kinda odd but at the same time, a neat touch. perhaps some more lighting on his right eye? seems like his eye brow sinks in instead of actually coming out

I liked how the detail came out on this one but there is something about the eyes that I never quite liked. The shadowing on the right side of the piece just didn't come out right and the more I messed with it the more I seemed to hate it. All in all though it taught me what not to do when dealing with a tonal drawing.

This piece is great and I love the random texture you mentioned. The dark eyes work really well, I'm not sure it would have had the same impact seeing eyes in there. Something so souless and creepy about MIchael and I think you caught it perfectly.

Thanks man, appreciate you checking this last one out seeing as I did my first horror drawing after seeing your work. You kind of made it click that I never had mixed my love for art with my love of horror movies. As a side note concerning my next stuff.....seeing as you've drawn up one of my ideas and your work inspired me to try my hands at monsters which turned out to be some of the most fun drawing I've ever done I wanted to let you throw up an idea for the first drawing in my next series. It's going to be a run of more 'creature' based monsters such as the Ghoulies, the Unnamable, Critters etc from some of the 80's and 90's movies. I still want to go with a "portrait" kind of set up instead of an action scene since I think it's a bit different and I like the look of it. If you want to just mull it over a bit and let me know what you come up with I'd love to give whatever you come up with a crack. Night man.
