Neverending Story's luck dragon, Falkor! For this dragon design they went with an Asian dragon mixed with copious amounts of golden retriever (or possibly some sort of terrier - he's got very dog-like features, at any rate).He's a fairly distinctive dragon and it's strange that whomever has the rights to Neverending Story hasn't done much with that lately. There's a horrible lack of Asian dragons in CGI and, even if it was taken up by a studio who sucks at animating animals (as so many for some reason do), they'd surely make his fur and facial expressions look great!
(This is the first of the 10 dragon poll pics! I was going to just draw the winner, but then Gorbash got zero votes, so obviously everyone needs way more dragon in their life, stat! Several of the others have near-finished lineart now, too, so they should start to trickle through to my gallery.

I honestly had had come by your gallery due to your comments I had had read just recently on regards to a deviation promoting "art theft" and DA's successful policing it via a 911 call...Your comments had just caught my attention and I had wondered what/how you worked yourself.
And then I came cross my childhood terrier dragon" from the Never Ending Story" (AKA the Luck Dragon).. And just had to drop by and leave a note to how cool and wonderfully rendered I had had found it into your own style.

The frustrating thing about growing up in the 80s/90s is that there's so much less fanart of the IPs that didn't get a successful reboot! I'm kind of hopefully they'll try again with Neverending Story though: would love to re-see the world with better special effects.

I am in an "in-between" state of a reboot for the never ending story... Sometimes I feel it should just be left alone... Sometimes I wish for a remake.
Eventually I am TOO sure that it shall be done... Shall it be such I would really appreciate one like the Narnia Chronicles (where improvement was n just about everything) and not the Willie Woncka's Chocolate Factory (The kind of thing you just try hard to not remember or think about).
Though in defense of the The Witch, the Lion and the Wardrobe and Willy Wancka comparison: It was initially a cartoon and not a live action movie.
A few months back I actually HAD re-watched The Never Ending Story with my son and sort of couldn't stop but think of how on earth I was so enchanted with such disappointing effects (ESPECIALLY the second movie).. Sometimes I think the same for the Dark Crystal... Though I can never get over the amazing quality of the whole environment set up in it.
(For those that would blame "technology"... I would dare say that "The Labyrinth" is going to be still capable of enchanting kids for a century at the least even though it has had been created with just about the same technological abilities... (In fact I think there was a two year gap between the production of each of them... The Labyrinth being the latest).
None the less I have not forgotten what that movie had meant to me and how much I had not minded watching it for the hundredth time.
