Hi! I made some rings using this technique. They're far from perfect, and don't really align properly or anything, but it was fun.
Thanks for the tutorial.

They look great, but did you twist one right and the other left?

That's possible. Maybe I put them together wrong after cutting it in two.
I'll try to pay attention to that next time!

What you need is two separate twisted pieces, one left and one right that each have the same amount of twists but in opposite directions. Perhaps a practice with some old copper electrical wire will help.

very nice! Braiding also looks awesome this way. Though instead of hammering I put it in a press.

The puzzle is revealed! Must...try...this. I'm sure lining up the hammered wire is going to be hell though.

Matching up the twists is the tricky bit. Perhaps soldering the wires before hammering? might be better...don't think I have tried that.

Its worth a shot. If I ever get around to it (I'm really good at procrastinating) I'll try that method.

If you turned your hand to jewelry, I am sure you would make some great pieces with that eye for detail you have.

I did make jewelry for a while, but mostly lost wax casting. I will admit I went a little overboard with the details when I did it.

Wow! that is exactly the idea i needed for my jewelery class! now maybe ill get a good grade, and a nice ring to wear, although i will be doing it with wax string instead of wire so i will need to just find a way to flatten it nice. THANK YOU!
